The front desk staff are the rudest most judgement...

The front desk staff are the rudest most judgemental group of older woman I have ever encountered. I called a Monday afternoon ( only time I could call ) after being in a car accident Friday night to make an appointment for my son who got an adult tooth knocked loose in the accident. When she first answered the phone she was super nice and then I explained what had happened and the first thing out of her mouth was "oh no! You should have called us sooner!" After already telling her the accident happened FRIDAY NIGHT. Thier office is not open Saturday or Sunday so I couldn't even call to make an appointment until that Monday when I called.. asked to speak to someone else and the next lady got on the phone and was just as rude. We will never use tempe smiles again. After dealing with a horrific car accident the last thing you want is people that are suppose to be helping you with a simple task, sit there and judge you and be completely rude to you over the phone. Unacceptable. My son and I are waaaaayyyy happier with his new dentist! If I could give zero stars I would.

Amazing. From the reception and management in the front to the Drs and hygienists these people are fantastic. Fair prices they don't make you feel guilty nor do they push any unwanted procedures. I feel lucky I found such a great dental office. 10/10 would recommend.

I would recommend this office to anyone who was looking for quality dental care where everyone on the staff treats you like family. If you have any trauma or fears about the dentist, COME HERE. They will make everything a smooth ride for you. I went to Tempe Smiles because my original dentist couldn't get me in for a much-needed root canal until December. I called ahead and Bobbi was SO helpful, just a wonderful way to start out my experience with someone who was kind, knowledgeable, and was able to get me a same-day appointment! When I came in I was welcomed warmly, and every step of my visit was comfortable. Melinda took my x-ray, Kelly and Dr. Smith did INCREDIBLE work with the root canal; I barely felt anything at all, and Dr. Smith made sure I was plenty numb before continuing when I did feel a little bit of pain. Kelly did an exceptional job at explaining every step before the procedure, to ensure that I was comfortable the entire time, she was very reassuring and answered all of my questions. Everyone was pleasant to talk to and treated me so respectfully! Afterward, everyone was incredibly helpful with helping me figure out a way to pay that worked for me, and they were so patient with me as I checked out! Overall a 10/10 experience. I am going to suggest the lovely folks at Tempe Smiles to everyone I know. Thank you guys!!!!

I had been a patient at Sunwest Dental for many ye...

I had been a patient at Sunwest Dental for many years. Then I was transferred to a different one of their locations called Tempe Smiles. My favorite hygienist, Melinda, no longer works there. I have mostly been there for check ups and cleanings and an occasional filling. I have been disabled for many years and have been unable to afford the major dental work that I've needed for a long time. I applied for Care Credit recently and got it. Billie, the office manager, is very unethical. She acted like she knew everything about how Care Credit works. She was really pushing me to do the 12 month, interest-free plan, once she learned that I have good credit. But, you must pay it off within 12 months or you get hit with about 22% interest cumulative, at the one year mark. I wanted to think about it, and asked her when I need to decide if I want the 12 month plan or up to 5 years to pay back. She said, oh, later. I asked a lot of questions. So, I came in to get started on my work (this half being over $2500) and she immediately wanted me to tell her right then which plan I want. She NEVER told me I would need to let her know at that time. I thought after my work was billed, I could then, decide how I wanted to pay it back. I told her,
I think I would rather set it up for 5 years, so I don't have to be under pressure, given my financial situation. She was like an attack dog, trying to push me into the 12 month plan, which I really didn't feel comfortable with. She said you can get a new interest free credit card and transfer the balance and "play the game." I didn't want to, but she kept pushing and the dental assistant was waiting for me. I eventually said, ok, 12 months. Billie MUST be getting something out of it. Maybe a percentage, a bonus, who knows? I told Dr. Cadwell at my next visit what happened regarding Billie. He said that he was pretty sure that their office could change the terms on my Care Credit. He said he would speak to Billie, which he did. She feigned no knowledge if it could be done or not. She said she would call her supervisor. Then, Billie, wouldn't get back to me. I kept calling back. She finally said that her supervisor said it cannot be changed. I had called Care Credit and they said that the provider (Tempe Smiles) could absolutely change the terms, no problem, and to ask them. I told Billie and said I want her supervisor's name and number and she refused to give it to me. She said she would have her call me. I have called back several more times and all Billie has are excuses. Maybe there is no supervisor and just another one of her lies. I am posting this to warn others about her. She has such a phony personality to go along with her lying. And, She's really pushy and could care less if you cannot afford the treatment. I was scheduled for a return visit and Billie said she had me down for one hour earlier, even though it was written on my calendar for one hour later. I said I just got out of the shower and would hurry and get there as soon as I could. She responded with, "The dentist is waiting for you." Once I got there, I found out he wasn't waiting for me at all! He had other patients and the dental assistants were going to take care of my issue. Another lie from Billie. Dr. Cadwell did my work, and while I had no issue with him personally, Billie works for him. That's the bottom line. At this point, if my Care Credit terms are not changed to my liking, I will NOT get the rest of my work done there and I will find another dentist permanently. And, I will tell everyone I know what happened and post as many reviews as I can, so others are not subjected to Billie and her mind games.

I just want to reiterate how horrible and uncaring the staff is here. If you care about your teeth at all stay away! Mike Tyson would be a better dentist!! Still have not received a refund for the botched job they did!!

My step father retired from dentistry 10 years ago and I've struggled to find a quality office where the staff is skilled and is ethical. I have found that with Tempe Smiles to say the least. I've been going to them for over a year since my initial visit for the usual x-rays and cleaning. (Melinda is an AWESOME hygienist!) A month or so after my first visit, I lost an old crown that needed to be redone (obviously due to it's 15 year old age) and then last month, cracked a tooth and needed another tooth re-crowned. Both times, the prep was minimal, painless and the bedside manner of all involved was awesome. Both experiences left me with a properly (perfect in my opinion) adjusted bite on the new tooth, no high spot or need to revisit for a touch up. I've referred a co-worker who has had excellent experiences as well. My wife has a phobia of 'her teeth falling out' and after cracking an old over-sized filling, I took her in for a crown. They found that they only needed to re-do the filling as some decay was missed by the prior dentist and that may have led to the failure. She went from a super high anxiety level to laughing with them and saying how "awesome they were". Like I said, my Dad was in the business. It's hard to find people with good hands but I finally did here. A big thank you to Dr. Shaw and Leo, you two are the best!

Sarah is a really good hygienist. She cleans my teeth really good. She's always pleasant and makes it more enjoyable. The front desk ladies are friendly and welcoming. Dr. Smith does a good job checking the progress of my teeth and if any issues, he makes sure to have it taken care of asap.
