My Experience at Study Edge has been amazing! The tutors are really great at telling you everything you need to know as efficiently as possible so that you can focus on what you really need to be studying for your exams. At the University of Florida, a Study Edge membership is imperative if you want to pass your classes. This tutoring company offers excellent service from a wide variety of very knowledgeable tutors. They have a huge selection of practice problems, although some can be very basic. However, they are excellent at explaining fundamental concepts for those who want a review.

Study Edge is great if you need to review for exams. There are exam reviews and weekly reviews that allow you to stay caught up with your work. The tutors are all extremely well-educated and offer assistance, although you should not rely on them to teach you all of the material for an exam. The website also has glitches, which then causes you to use more "tokens." Since adding extra tokens costs money, it becomes frustrating when a video freezes and you must use more tokens. However, the overall pricing for Study Edge is reasonable- especially if you are using it for various classes. I would recommend Study Edge to college students because it is a convenient way to help improve your GPA.

It actually managed to teach me concepts that I thought were so hard in class but actually are so easy if you have a good teacher. Study Edge has literally saved my life at UF. I first started using them when I failed my first exam in PreCalc and after that, I knew I'd use them for all my classes. Their practice problems are great, they keep up with my classes, are tailored to my professor, and super responsive when you have questions. And for the price, I can't beat it when I have so many STEM classes. I'd say something cheesy like "I don't know what I'd do without Study Edge" but I do know what I'd be doing without them: failing.

I've used Study Edge for seven semesters and it's honestly been the best study tool I've found since coming to UF. The weekly reviews help you stay up to date with the material in class and the exam reviews do a great job refreshing you of the content right before the exam! The tutors also offer study hours multiple times a week at the library- super convenient because I'm already there studying and it's essentially one-on-one tutoring. Study Edge definitely helps translate difficult, technical concepts so that you can actually understand what's going on in your classes. Using Study Edge helped me succeed in some of UF's hardest classes like accounting and finance. Before college I didn't really know how to study, but Study Edge gave me the skills I need to master any class!!!

The only reason to use Study Edge is if you do not attend class and need a brief review before a test. The content is extremely basic; if you have a halfway decent teacher at UF, and you are willing to study on your own, you will not need their services. In addition, Study Edge usually has one really good teacher for the test reviews, and the teachers of other videos are not nearly as experienced or as clear. (These teachers usually post videos about weekly quiz reviews or answers to practice tests written by Study Edge). Finally, do not attempt to use their materials to study without watching the online videos, because many of the materials have typos/mistakes that are clarified in the videos. Thus, if you only use the online materials for extra practice, you may wind up unnecessarily confused.

Perhaps most importantly, be aware that this company has some unsavory business practices:

a. This company uses automatic monthly payments, which must be cancelled at least one day in advance of your renewal date or else you are charged for the next month. No refunds are allowed; if you are lucky, they may offer you a gift card. I very much dislike companies that do this because it allows them to make oodles of money off of busy students who may lose track of their renewal dates, but no longer need the services of the business.

b. Once you cancel your recurring membership, they delete all of your tokens, including those that you paid for and haven't used.

c. The tokens that you buy are not renewed from month to month unless you pay extra. So the ones you don't use each month get deleted, and you have to buy new ones.

d. The website has glitches, and often charges you tokens when you re-click on a video that didn't work, for example.

In short, this company has a poor business model, and I highly recommend steering clear of it and seeking help elsewhere if you need it. If you decide to use this company even after reading this review, sign up with a credit card with a good track record for disputing unwanted charges. If you are not satisfied with their services, be prepared to fight to get your money back.
