My father hasn't been there for a year and has been put in the hospital 4 times. Once he broke his hip and layed in the floor for who knows how long. 6 hours later they decided he should go to maguire and they sent him to chippingham say they were full! Now he's in icu at maguire. Dehydrated, malnourished, low blood pressure and low oxygen. Obviously he's not being cared for. Now with covid we can't visit and see how he's doing while "care givers" go home and who knows what they get into then get to go back to work. Shame on them all on the shanidowah wing.

Do not watch their patients. Patients will wait hours for help to bathroom. Don t bath them as they should. Put everyone in one little room in front of a TV with one aide sitting with them. Medicare/Medicaid restraints violated. HIPPA violations.

This facility is the best around. The staff are friendly and the building is very clean. Excellent care.

My Father died from advanced dementia yesterday but I want to express my gratitude for the way the staff cared for my dad for many months. He had been in another nursing home where he was beaten to the point that the VA said they would not allow him to go back there. They found him a bed at Sitter and Barfoot and Dad flourished under their care. When he died he had no skin breakdown whatsoever and he loved the staff. The place is not only beautiful, modern and spacious, but there is no offensive smells. You would think you checked in the the Hilton. They loved my dad and were very sad to see him go. THANK YOU!..PS I am a nurse and know of good and bad nursing homes..this is the best I have ever seen.

It's a great place...the veterans there are happy, and well cared for. if you don't believe me go see for yourself, talk to the residents, do your own homework.

My husband had lung cancer and was a resident there for almost 3 months. When he went in they put him in physical therapy and he made remarkable progress. He loved the facility and everything about it and received wonderful care. The doctor there respected his wishes and he was able to peacefully pass away with no pain.

My mom was in their care for over ten years. To her it was her "home"and the staff became her family. And by the way, the staff treated her the same way. She was a nurse in World War Two because she wanted to contribute to the war effort. She would never know that down the road her benefits from service was going to provide her with such excellent care and services like Sitter and Barfoot when she needed it the most. We will always be grateful for the excellent care she received and we don't hesitate to recommend Sitter and Barfoot to any of the military people we run in to. So far, everything has been excellent and the staff are very attentive and compassionate! I feel confident that my father is getting proper care.
