Siam Legal International Review

They change attorneys constantly. All they care about is collecting money and they constantly lie, make up stories, tell you different things. The only thing for sure is they bill you - and it's even more than a US law firm would bill you for the same case. Then you get nothing due to their incompetency. Thada knows nothing. Ken - the American they have for show has no power. Don't use them, just go to Thailand and get an honest local attorney for 5% of the price that actually cares about doing the right thing.

I wanrdt a Thai legal firm to handle the purchase of a property for me. Having read the reviews I contacted SL via their website, I was told callback within 24 hours - a week later, still waiting. I also called them twice (no response from first call), after second I got an SMS asking for my details, I sent this - no response. So, I followed up with another SMS, no response.
It's almost as if they don't want new business!!!!

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES employ this company. They are appallingly slow, unreliable, lack any professional ethics and grossly inept.

My initial enquiry took 2 months and several emails before the ball got rolling. Constantly chasing up progress or updates, after 4 months with very little to show I abandoned all hope. Totally untrustworthy and prone to lies.

Siam Legal are worthless. Once they have been paid, they do not reply to calls, they do not call you back as promised by their assistent and the lawyer you pay for does not reply to your text messages or emails either.
A complete waste of time and money. Avoid at all costs.

Totally put off by the drastic void between reviews.
I never trust a company that has these review discrepancies.
The green five star, the English grammar and the very short comments is a little bit of a give a way.
The single stars and are longer explanations, more detail and sound more real. So I will go through the consulate..
Also they want money before detailed documentation.
Now that’s a worry.

I tried contacting this firm with very poor and in fact rude results, on a family matter for a friend. First the switchboard did not answer and went to message, unreturned of course. Then I tried the chat and was cut off half way through explaining the case. After complaining vocally I got an email from one lawyer saying they could consider taking on such a case. After that I tried to contact her on the phone and by email and NEVER received any response, despite aprox. 5 attempts. This is insulting and unprofessional and in the meantime I have engaged a major international law firm to handle. Will be expensive, but remember you get what you pay for. They obviously have more business than they need, and have a poor culture of prospective client communications. Why bother?

Took time to reveiw my question so they could give me the best advice possible. Sadly through no fault of their own the reply was of little use to me due to to ever changing government policy.

I used Siam Legal to help open a thai bank account whilst under amnesty. Sent through the information required, met with Rex and quickly received all the necessary documents to take to the bank. The account was opened without any issues. Would definetly recommend.

Siam Legal, Rex Baay and his Legal Assistant, did a very professional job getting all of mine and my Thai wife's marriage documents together and the marriage went off without a hitch! The same team is working on getting my O-non immigrant visa changed to a married visa. I am positive that with these people helping me, that the visa will go smoothly. Civil case was initially assigned to a highly competent paralegal. She left months before the trial date. Her replacement was also competent. She, too, left before the trial. Attorneys for Siam Legal billed and were paid to produce and file a closing argument with the court. The law firm failed to submit a closing argument after getting deadline extensions from the court to do so. Siam Legal does not respond to e-mail or written inquiries about the status of money paid in advance for services they never rendered. While my overall impression was highly favorable in the beginning, the firm seemed to become disorganized as dedicated people left to pursue further education.

As of 11 June, 2020 Siam Legal has not responded to multiple contact attempts via email and postal mail. At issue are the disposition of money paid in advance for services the firm never rendered, and requests for documents generated by Siam Legal in the course of legal action. I've seen no improvement in the haphazard nature of the firm's legal services and would not in clear conscience recommend their services. The firm was previously located at Interchange 21 near Asoke.

There are a lot useful information and the reply was very professional and well articulate. It's hard to have accurate information regarding new policies, especially when for me French embassy doesn't convey correctly well all the information.

Siam legal had provided a professional, service through every step of an administrative process which could have been a real hassle without their help . Special thanks to Rex who always gave me quick replies on time and was very efficient . So highly recommended firm .

Siam Legal has made our marriage registration in Thailand a stress-free process. They took care of everything once we have provided the requirements from our home country. It took less than a week to be able to register our marriage at the Thai district and another couple of days to get the English translation and authentication of the Marriage Certificate. They even provided us with the marriage registration application forms for the embassy. One of their staff members also accompanied us to the Thai district to get married. She took care of everything at the Thai district; all we had to do was sign the paper. They provided us with updates and instructions all throughout the process. A very big thank you to Rex and the rest of the Siam Legal team for making our union possible during these trying times.

siam legal , what a great resource.my wife now and myself had dated for a couple of years. i lived in usa , her in thailand. we skyped daily and i visited a couple times a year. not enough for what we wanted, so we seeked the help of siam legal. martin was our lawyer, the process is long, not due to them mostly the way things are with two countries but mostly the way uscis takes there time with everything.however, martin told us upfront it would take time , but shared they never had a refusal for a k1 visa. there firm also offered a package deal for the change of status needed once she arrived and we were married. so have confidence and patience but if your looking for results they will deliver. basically it was about a year to get her here, and then we married just shy of the 90 days allowed, filed for change of status and pretty much a year to the date of her arrival she received work papers, travel ,social security number. within a month from that she had her interview and within two weeks of that received her green card for two years. it is a process, and not one i recommend without a professional filing all the papers. uscis has no time for errors and martin from siam legal clearly fulfilled all our expectations.

Ms Lyn assisted us in all the process for temporary resident visa application for Canada. She is very experienced and has paid extra attention to details with regards to all the documents that need to be secured and completed. Her professional advice on how to prepare our documents, including format and necessary information that has to be included, has really given us good insights to ensure our application will get approval. It was all worth it having Lyn to help us all the way from consulting to having our visa finally stamped on our passports.

I have used Siam legal on 3occasions Mr Wil was very through and professional in securing my sons Visitor visa to the UK, when posed with tricky questions he did not bluff an answer he was honest and candid. I have no doubt his methods helped me secure the required visa. The other staff I had dealings in other matters while Thai were schooled abroad and related well to my concerns. Mr Chaiwut and Mr Rex were discreet punctual and polite and provided vital advice and assistance in my related concerns. To start with there were several setbacks in our application for our spouses permanent resident application under the family class. When Lyn Heart Fryas took over our file things improved trustingly, she ditched relentlessly for what had went wrong and worked on fixing things where possible. Lyn got us my wife Narisa s permanent residency and Narisa is presently with me in Canada. Her 2 children who had been previously refused several times just now got there permanent residency and now are able to join us in Canada. To the president effort of Lyn over a lengthy time, we are at this stage now.
We can not thank her enough and would recommend her to anyone who has to deal with Canadian immigration to get the job done.

It was very quick to response and very informative too.

I used their help in opening a bank account back in November. Rex provided me all the paperwork and asked me to take it to the bank. I was a bit worried as no one from Siam Legal accompanied me to the bank. But it went very smoothly and my account was opened in 10 minutes. I'm back in Bangkok now and hope to use their service again for my visa extension.

I had them do a K1 visa, they took my money in October 2016, said they sent my forms in the beginning of November 2016, I would contact them every month and said everything was fine, then told me they had to contact my government office, said give them another 10 business days, then they told me the same thing the next month. My papers did not leave their office until April 19th 2017. The final thing was they also put some of my information on expired forms. I have been trying to get back my 1,900 dollars but they refuse. They tell me to give them the packet back my government sent me if I want my money back. Do they think I would start from scratch and not use some of those papers for another lawyer to use. They lied to me for six months, never sent my papers for six months, but a hardship on me and my girl, and refuses to give me my money back. DO NOT USE THIS FIRM. They lied and stole 1,900 dollars from me. I have asked many times to speak to a partner with the firm and not a staff member but this too never happened. I am not a rich guy and the 1,900 dollars is a lot of money to me plus now I had to hire another lawyer and spend more money because of Siam Legal.

It's been a nightmare, never can get a straight answer from them. Started off ok but then they sat on paperwork for almost 1 1/2 months before sending to lockbox in Texas .When it finally made it to US Embassy in Bangkok I sent all info for packet 3 almost 3 weeks later and it still has not been received. When asked they said it was sent but can't provide Thai post receipt, and embassy has not received. My suggestion is for anyone thinking about using this Law Firm is look else were many cheaper ways to go. Live and learn.

Mr. Nathan Wajanathawornchai was assigned as my lawyer to complete the serving of court papers to facilitate an adoption in California. My court was located in California but the biological father was located in Thailand. According to US and Thai law the person being served had to be served in accordance with Thai law. This law states that a lawyer has to perform the serving of the papers. The judge in California was very meticulous about making sure this was performed in accordance with Thai law. Mr. Nathan Wajanathawornchai provided pictures, cerficied copies of his credentials as a lawyer in Thailand and affidavits indicating that he in fact completed serving of the papers. The judge in California was very satisfied and we were able to complete the adoption. We will for ever be thankful to Mr. Nathan Wajanathawornchai for his assistance. He is a very competent lawyer and willing to go above and beyond for his clients.

I paid $1,000 for services to obtain a 1 year retirement visa. I received an email with the forms, which I filled out and returned. Afterwards they said they would contact me when everything was ready. I never heard back from them, so I emailed and asked if I needed to do anything else. No response so after a week I went to the office to speak with someone in person. I brought my Thai girlfriend so there would be no communication problems. We were told there was no one available to speak with us. I never did hear back from anyone, EVER. A total rip off of $1,000!!
I finally just went to immigration and got the retirement visa on my own, which wasn't hard to do.

Thank you for the very swift reply to my concerns regarding returning to Thailand.I have a girlfriend, 2 young children, a New Built Home, Bank Accounts, Life Insurances, Thai ID Card, Driving Licences etc, but I cannot return home due to travel restrictions. I feel as I am classed as a Farang tourist & have read many articles which state that Thailand do not want Farangs back as yet. I don't class myself as a Tourist, I work offshore Cameroon on an oil rig, usually 28/28 day rotation. I have now completed 133 days work & have not seen my children & girlfriend since 3rd February. I feel nobody is taking action in the Government to raise the concerns of like myself & many others that are in similar situations & I don't know where to look for answers.

We needed assistance to apply a Tourist Visa for my thai gf to Europe via France. Engaged Siam Legal service in applying it. They were professional and provide good and precise advice on how to prepare the necessary documents. Communications was also clear and on time as I was travelling mostly. Excellent visa service from Wil - a successful Schengen Visa application at the first attempt for my Thai partner. Siam Legal International helped me and my wife in Thailand with our marriage. I am Canadian and therefore the process seemed overwhelming but Siam Legal handled everything and removed all of the stress and worry for us. I commend Siam Legal for discarding or amending its dubious advertisement published in January 2018 , after having given a personal review on this website and classified under "Local Guide" by google.
However I deplore the arrogance and/or lack of courtesy of some of its staff for not answering the messages sent to them.

After doing some research and contacting other agencies, I decided to use Siam Legal register my marriage. All of the staff, especially Rex and Kanpitcha have been in contact and provided great advice and clarified many of the specific details involved. As I organized the affirmation of marriage from the UK embassy myself, they also offered me a small discount. I worked out, once travel to Bangkok, translation fees, taxis to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and hotel costs due to waiting for the affirmation to be legalized were added up it would have cost me pretty much the same price as if I had done it all myself. However, as the process for Brits in particular to get married has got a bit more complicated due to changes at the embassy, I probably would have screwed it up doing it myself, causing extra costs on my part. Also, it allowed my wife and I to return home to continue working, as opposed to needing to take a week off work......Due to changes in procedure at my fiance's local Amphoe office up north, Siam Legal also recommended us to register the marriage in Bangkok, which turned out to be a wise suggestion. Miss Kanpitcha from Siam Legal met us at one of the district offices (khet) in Bangkok, and she did a great job to guide us, help translate any technical terms I didn't understand, and also witness my partner and I signing the marriage certificate with her co-worker........As part of the package, Siam Legal have offered to translate the new marriage certificate into English and legalize it, and then courier it up to our house, saving on extra hotel costs. And finally, as I plan to switch to a marriage visa in the coming months they have given me up to date advice of the new documents and requirements needed to process the Non-O visa......My experience with Siam Legal has been great, and they seem to have covered almost every base which I asked from them. I would highly recommend using them to register a marriage. :)
