Worst airport I've ever taken, very small people are waiting on the ground You are charged an extra 6 pounds more than the luggage itself is 75 ! Amazing staff is very rude There is no dutyfree or even a shop or even a small restaurant to wait or eat until the flight arrives. And to finish the flight more than 2 hours late without a billboard that announces anything

Technically modern equipped small airport. Upon arrival, the border guards were rather strict with single girls and female companies, demanding to name the place where they plan to stop (perhaps this is temporary). At the exit we were immediately greeted by friendly cats. From the airport to the city center regularly (exactly at the specified time!) There is a bus for 1.5 (less than 30 minutes drive). Prices in the Duty Free are quite high.
It's a workable small international airport. There are all the usual amenities like currency exchange and ATMs and best of all free unlimited strong WiFi!! Budget at least 2 hours when flying out internationally as it can get busy at peak times when lots of tourists are flying home.
If you're taking the city bus into the city it can be hard to find the station. Ask around if you're having trouble, but it is located in the drop off area on the upper level of the airport on the Southwest portion of the area. You'll know you're in the right place when you see the blue bus sign!
Our 120 grams olive paste brought as a souvenir was a terrible danger to bring on the plane, so they considered. Indeed, me and my girlfriend look like real criminals, especially when we wear our cowboy hats.
Good, modern and convenient airport. Many shops. The presence of armed security is a little confusing but if you do not focus on this, then everything is OK. The bus 2.5 costs 2.5 , while the air conditioner is running. A taxi costs from 35
Great modern airport. Nice staff. The girl at registration saw my enormous growth; she herself offered a place near the emergency exit without any extra charges! (as long as they haven t offered anywhere else)
Great small airport. It took me only 10min through the security. Plenty of seats available. Only the airline did not want to update the screens with the gate for some reason.
Process improvement suggestion: the airport recently installed a self-checkout service on arrival. You select a language on a very large touchscreen, then scan your passport, then take a picture of yourself, then prints the picture and your passport details on a piece of paper that you hand to a security officer. This process is not secure, its wasteful, and hazardous. Not secure because the security officer may not accurately check if the badly printed pictured person matches that on the passport. Wasteful because of all the unnecessary printing paper. Hazardous because of the touchscreen that ALL arriving passengers need to touch therefore spreading germs and bacteria. All these problems are already solved at other European airports. I'm surprised how the recent security upgrade at Larnaca airport has managed to miss the mark so easily!
For business travelers there are a plenty of bad points! If you fly with LOT there is no Lounge open before 3am. The security check is very bad as well, they want you to undress you almost completely. And if you land in lca you need to wait sometimes very long in the passport check! No priority lane or something.
International Airport, Non-Schengen, Large Duty Free, A 48 Gates Terminal. - no FQTraveller lounge, but between gate 44 and 45 round sofas with table - wifi free via cytanet, normal fast with VoIP and VPN - Flights to Germany mostly via FRA, MUC, VIE, - few mobile phone charging stations in the middle of the aisle (see picture 19) - Gates will be announced approximately 45 minutes before departure
Car rental counter (left-hand traffic) in the arrivals area. Parking in front of the terminal Buses in front of the terminal
Usually this airport is DECENT however my experience today was absolutely terrible. As you can tell by my name im not white, im brown. Soooo this means that since im brown i will be randomly checked or in someway discriminated. Guess what? It's exactly what happened. I got pulled to the side because i had 'suspicious' item in bag. It was an orange.... Then proceeded to be questioned where I'm traveling and where i came from. I answered his questions as i knew this aiport was racist. If you're white you're sorted, any other of colour and you're f**ked. SOME staff are friendly but rare to have in this airport. If you're brown/black travelling then just be warned as you may get stopped for no reason. So yeah... Hate ya'll racist greeks. Screw yourselfs.
However, for European citizens it is necessary to carry out checks, despite Cyprus being part of the European Community. There are computers on which to put ID cards or passports for recognition. Unfortunately, both on the way there and on the way back, he didn't recognize us and so we went straight to the counter. However, they were all kind.
Speedy check in 5 euro extra charge only to find that the other lanes are moving at a faster pace, When confronted person in charge we where met with the expression of "I don't care". Onto security check in, Completely over staffed with people stood there making jokes and paying hardly any attention to security, the only one working was the person at the metal detector as she had no choice due to no one else helping her. Also may I point out that disabled priority should have their own lane and not cut in front paying priority check in clients. Duty free, a continuous bombardment of staff trying to sell you products which actually puts you off buying anything due to their annoying approach, the guy at the Armani stand was specially annoying stopping us while we walked and nearly pushing the product on us with a fake Italian accent. Simplicity is key to a smooth operation without the extra emphasis on acting the part, just because you are selling a French or Italian product it doesn't mean you have to practice the accent on the client. Sorry larnaca airport but you have a long way to go and the one star rating is too much.
Comfortable airport with easy navigation and multiple signs that leads you where you need to be. Wide parking and multiple car rent stands so you can find the car that suits your pocket and trip goal. Pleasant personnel. Big hall to wait for your flight with amazing roof.
Very disappointed, have late flight and all places to eat are closed. Very annoying staff in duty free trying to persuade you to spend money .........made me walk away (brought anyway without the pest behind me). Place is clean enough and security reasonably quick but we do have a late flight.
All very hard. Pleasant airport. Rental car rental on the Internet was perfect (for example, cheaper rental car) and the settlement on site was ok. From Larnaca you can reach every place in the Greek area of the island relatively quickly. Cyprus is smaller than Sardinia.
the airport is small, but it handles traffic without problems and queues. here is clean and tidy. the procedures of registration, examination and passport control are fortunately not delayed in time. important! do not use taxi services directly from the airport. There are a lot of shuttle buses in different directions. It is advisable to order a taxi directly in the target cities to the hotel.
The airport is clean and offers a variety of tax free shops and restaurants. However, due to the large amount of passengers on a daily basis the logistics is terrible. From check-in to immigration and security takes a long time. In accurate bord information is gommen. You should expect delay.
Small and somehow cozy airport. It does not look special at all, but you have all what you need: clean toilets, a few souvenir shops, coffee bars and restaurants.
Border and security control staff were very friendly.
Really smooth and efficient on arrival. Departures are a different story. Long queues, that are not operated or managed properly for border control and security checks. Not enough staff to deal with the volume of passengers, not enough buses to taxi passengers to the aircraft. This airport is simply not equipped to deal with the increasingly large amount of outgoing passengers and aircraft.
Give yourself 2h 30m before your departure time if you want to be able to board your flight on time and wear comfy shoes, you're going to be on your feet a loooooong time.
Arrival in July, corona time. Before the flight printed out the Cyprus Flght Pass at home, what for? Once at the airport, everyone had to stand in line to enter the data as already recorded in the Cyprus Flight Pass and re-enter it on a tray. Then every person had to take a Covid19 test, by the way my 2nd test. But here tested by the nose. All in all, an hour lost. It had an advantage, the suitcases were already next to the belt, but who fits that you only take your own suitcases with you? Testing is ok, but it would have been easy to put a barcode on the Cyprus Flght Pass that just needs to be scanned upon arrival. Personnel and time saved!
Cool little airport. Getting lost here is unrealistic, everything is very simple. Employees are polite, often familiar with the Russian language, can communicate. Work fast. In the departure zone there are standard duty-free shops, a small shop of traditional goods (olives, cheese, butter, etc.). Prices as at any airport) waiting areas are quite comfortable, Wi-Fi is at your service.
Nice airport. Arrivals area 1st floor. Departure area is the second. Quick search. Customs too. There are many duty free shops in the waiting area. There are chairs with usb output for recharging phones. Free wifi. Water 0.5 for 1 . One minus for traveling with children is a large number of slot machines for any age!
... small, efficient international airport. we had to walk on the tarmac from the plane, up a flight of stairs, got to immigration, 2 queues - EU and non-EU passport holders, staff ready to help, lots of passport scanning machines, takes roughly 1.5 mins per passenger. you scan your passport, your photo is taken, a slip is printed and you present this to border officer. collect your luggage and pass through customs and that's it. car rental companies in the arrival lobby. ATM machines charge over 3 per withdrawal. i suggest use ATM machines in towns instead.
A small airport (but the largest on the island), with small problems (which, by the way, are solved ...). It happened to be here more than once. Some vanity and excessive protection of this object is striking (believe me, the passengers who are here are very worried). There are many incompetent employees among the staff (in particular, employees of the transit zone do not own a "legal field" at all, and do not understand the rules for staying in this pretty country ...), but fortunately there are pros (apparently the border guards) who helped solve the problem ( artificially created by a careless employee of a transit zone), with a very high level of delicacy and professionalism ... Respect and respect for them ...! The most interesting thing is that when they met a few hours later in the airport building with "this professional" ... he found the courage to apologize for his mistakes (which does him honor) ... This can happen anywhere and with anyone ... But very I would like to see this happen no longer in pretty Larnaca ...
The Council of Ministers approved the naming of Larnaca Airport in Larnaca International Airport "Glafkos Clerides".
The Council of Ministers, under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic, Nikos Anastasiadis, approved the name of the Larnaca airport terminal building in "Larnaca International Airport '" Glafkos Clerides ", on the occasion of the Democracy and the completion of two years before his death. in recognition of his contribution to the site.
The decision of the Council of Ministers was taken into account that Glafkos Clerides, in addition to being President of the Republic of Cyprus from 1993 to 2003, was a political figure of international scope, with a major contribution to the global struggle against Nazism.
His multifaceted contribution to the struggles of Cypriot Hellenism, as well as his long-standing contribution to the Republic of Cyprus, was also taken into account, culminating in his enormous and decisive contribution to the maximum national success of our EU accession.
The security check is super strict, and the carry-on baggage has been repeated three times by X-ray machine. The efficiency of the work is poor, and it is very patience to pass the customs. Look at the duty-free shops, the wine is twice the price of Taiwan (similar in Europe)
Well-built almost new airport with convenient lounges. We passed everything upon arrival in a minute without a single question, drove the whole family (2 adults, 2 children).
Completely appalling queuing system. Luckily we arrived with plenty of time to go through, and still the check in process took over 90 minutes with 1hr alone spent on the passport control and baggage check.
I am sure the fact that emit was Sunday evening attributed to the business of the airport but the wiring system used is antiquated and inefficient. The single queue to the first check point moved, but a bottlerrap was created soon after, the passport check moved, but another bottle trap was created straight after meaning people who were in the queue 30 persons behind managed to get before us. I lost my partner after this point as the bottle trap split the system up (fair enough this was his mistake for beng polite to others and letting them through). But at the bag check in area I ended up behind 25 more people who were previously before me.
Cyprus airport - if you're going to take this many passengers on any one given day - invest in a more efficient checkpoint system.
Larnaca International Airport - Glafcos Clerides. The largest and busiest airport in Cyprus. Pretty big airport. Lots of connections. Especially and mostly for holidaymakers. Over 8 million passengers in 2018. This is not bad. Very modern. Very clean. Very well maintained. Readable and visible interiors branding. Gastronomy and shops. Comfortable places in waiting areas. Very well connected by the highway to Nicosia, Ayia Napa and Limassol.
My landing at Larnca Airport from London Stansted on 26th October, 2018. My depart from Larnca Airport to London Stansted on 7th November, 2018.
I've been lucky enough to have travelled to 50+ countries, and have never had a problem with an airport or an airline until landing in Larnaca.. On Sep 13th after my flight from Belfast had landed at 20:30, I made my way to the connecting flights section as my final flight was to Tel Aviv at 22:00 and didn't have any checked luggage to pick up. This would've been a straightforward process in most airports around the world, but unfortunately the two "security agents" working near the x-ray machines didn't let me through. According to them, only passengers with connecting flights to Doha (Qatar Airways) and Dubai (Emirates) were allowed through, as only those airlines had service desks open in that section. I tried explaining to them that there were more than just 2 flights, but they didn't understand what I was saying as both employees couldn't speak more than a few words of English (or at least pretended that they couldn't..). So one of them called a representative from TUS Airways, so that I could talk to them and have them translate into Greek for the airport employees. I was told by the representative to simply leave the connecting flights lounge, go through passport control, and then head up to the TUS desk in the departures area. But then one of the airport agents refused to let me leave the section, even if I had just gotten off my first flight and had obviously been through security beforehand!! So then after chatting with her colleague for a while, she told me to wait for an airport policeman to escort me out. That sounded great, as I thought I'd finally be on my way.. But I ended up waiting for 45 minutes before realizing that nobody would be coming, and that the employee had lied to me about contacting someone to come over. Once I noticed that my flight was leaving in just over half an hour, and literally didn't have a single minute more to be wasted by the two airport buffoons, I demanded (furiously, and rightfully so) that they let me catch my flight. They accepted, and a third airport employee escorted me to the TUS desk in the departures area. Unfortunately, once we got there the gate was closed and I missed my flight to Tel Aviv... I asked the third employee to provide me with the names of his two colleagues that had caused me to miss my flight, so that I could submit a complaint to the airport's management to be reimbursed. He refused to do so, which I can't blame him for as he probably feared retribution. Over 2 months have passed now, and airport management still hasn't owned up to their employees' mistakes. The money I lost by missing my flight has not been returned to me, nor have I received compensation for the hotel deposits I lost in Israel. Actually I haven't been offered anything at all by the airport, despite the sheer incompetence and nonsense I had to go through. The only thing I got in response from Larnaca Airport's "PRM Coordinator" is a template e-mail thanking me for taking the time to write to them, followed by a few lines quickly shifting the blame to TUS Airways. The lack of professionalism at this airport is not only unacceptable, but embarrassing. The only thing TUS can be held accountable for is the fact that I was denied boarding 30 min before my flight (very frustrating since I've never seen a plane boarded with all passengers that far in advance.. TUS desk employee too tired to deal with another customer or make a call to the plane's crew I guess), but this never would've happened had the airport's agents not been so thickheaded. I tried to get my ticket reimbursed by TUS Airways, but their customer service officer replied that it wasn't their fault that I missed my flight and so they wouldn't be paying me back. Hopefully these incidents will discourage people from travelling through Larnaca Airport and with TUS Airways, as both are ridiculously incompetent. I for one know that I will never be using them again.. if you can't get the most basic aspects if your organization right, who knows what's going on with the more serious ones (in the aviation industry no less..).
