Our drive to Sonamarg was scenic and took about three hours. We stayed at Rah Villas Hotel, located just before Sonamarg, where the rooms, service, and food were quite good. On July 1st, we headed to the Neelgart Helipad early in the morning. We were lucky to get the 7:30 AM slot, and the eight-minute helicopter ride to Panchtarani was thrilling. From there, we rode ponies to the Holy Amarnath Ji Cave. Seeing the massive ice Shivalinga, approximately 17-18 feet tall, was a life-changing experience. After darshan, we enjoyed a meal at the local Langar. We returned to Panchtarani by 3:30 PM and flew back to Srinagar by 4:30 PM, resting at Rah Villas for the night. On July 2nd, we visited the Mata Kheer Bhawani Temple, a significant Shakti Peeth, before checking into Hotel Solar Residency in Srinagar. The accommodation was decent. The next day, July 3rd, was spent exploring Gulmarg. The Gondola cable car ride was exhilarating, and the heavy snow on Phase 2 allowed for some fun snow activities. We had lunch at the Gulmarg Sahara Restaurant before returning to Srinagar. In the evening, we enjoyed a peaceful Shikara ride on Dal Lake.
