Muttville is held at the SPCA on 16th St and Alabama. They offer supervised pettings with some of our 4 legged K9 that need care or are looking fora new place to call home. If you want an added addition to your home then I suggest starting by contacting your local SPCA. The staff here is knowledgeable and friendly with a real and true care for both young and old dogs.
They were great. Found us the tight very Quickly. Ad the Dig They matched us with is a perfect fit.
amazing staff and business. great service and friendly staff. please help spread the word about this business they deserve community support for the work they do. truly angels
Not the most highly organized situation I've ever entered, but they are all volunteers and I totally get it. The place does really, really good things, and the dogs are so sweet and well taken care of. I highly recommend this spot to any beautiful soul who's looking to give an older pup a wonderful last few years.
I love Muttville. They rescue seniors only and do an amazing job of taking care of them while they wait for their families.
The best senior dog shelter! Go check out all the adorable mutts!
Hello. Have you Tarzan pug? because i would like to see you very much(:
Recently aadopted the best dog ever from Muttville! It was a very good decision to go there first. Awesome, dedicated staff and volunteers. Thinking maybe we need a future pack partner...
Adopt a senior so rewarding, volunteer if you can and donate if you can best place ever
Amazing volunteers rescuing sweet senior dogs who need a forever home! I adopted there recently and they have been incredibly helpful and supportive as my pup gets used to her new life with me.
Great little senior dog rescue in San Francisco. The dogs are free range, not a kennel in sight. Just lots of beds and lots of caring loving volunteers.
I usually volunteer there. Having to stop temporarily. Truly a wonderful rescue, as they take in senior pups needing homes. These pups have been thru so much, either surrendered due to their owner dying or in many cases because of the medical expenses that the owners can't afford. Truly a heartbreaking experience to be left at an animal shelter, where they become confused, depressed, fearful, and if sick in possible relentless pain. At Muttville they are given so much love by the volunteers, fosters and hopefully that 2nd chance to begin anew at a forever home
They saved our babies. They came from so far away to help. I am furever greatful. And heartbroken, but thankful.
They are OLDER dogs and full of looove cuz that were loved and want to be with you. You could even ask about the possibility of fostering first. You don't need one from 8 weeks. Get a trained lovey!!!
So many cute adoptable dogs! Staff is so friendly and helpful. Find a new friend here today.
Muttville led my 85 year old mother to adopt a dog that was in failing health, knowing that the dog would need extensive vet care just to keep the dog from suffering. The dog was obviously much older than they stated when my mother was considering adopting. My mother told them this will be the last dog in her lifetime and she wanted a companion to last her through her life, which is why it is so shameful that Muttville saddled my mom with a dog with almost no remaining life. The vet bills ran up to many thousands of dollars over the two years my mom was able to keep the dog alive. Shame on you Muttville!
Best senior dog rescue in the Bay Area It's a slight uphill walk from 16th Mission BART. Muni is also available. I appreciate all the dedicated staff and volunteers. Senior dogs make great pets and need love, too.
Go and get love from the most experienced dogs of all sizes
Amazing non profit. They truly care for the dogs and find them great homes.
The next dog I adopt will most likely come from Muttville.
Havent gone inside as i was just transporting some doggies but the staff member who came to help me was super friendly and very welcoming.
Great no-kill rescue, shelter for dogs 12 and older. If you are in any way thinking about adopting a dog you should check out the awesome Muttville website or come by any weekend for their adoption events.
Excellent operation. Some sweet ol' dogs there that would make great home bodies!
I volunteer because I cannot get enough of the dogs love. They give back to me way more than I give by volunteering one afternoon a week.
Great place. Consider including them in your will. They do do many good things for both elderly dogs and people. And if you want a mature, usually very friendly, trained dog, this is the place to go.
Its so cute inside. More like a doggie dorm than jail like other shelters. Their adoption fee isnt cheap but they do alot of medical work on the dogs. Muttsville is a really amazing place and they do a TON of good work for the eldery fur friends.
Muttville is one of the greatest animal rescue groups in the Bay Area, and I've worked with quite a few over the years! Fantastic staff, foster parents, and volunteers who focus their love, care and resources on senior dogs who might otherwise be euthanized in shelters. Highly recommend them if you're looking to add a very deserving silver muzzle or two to your pack. They're so appreciative of donations and volunteers as well. I love these guys!
What's not to love? Spent the day volunteering at Muttville walking, bathing and playing with older pups! Do yourself a favor and check them out!
Cool place if your looking to hook up with a cool dog.
i got a dog from muttville. she died though
I absolutely, positively, cannot express how amazing Muttville is. My boyfriend and I cannot have pets at our current apartment so we've been trying to go to Muttville's open adoption weekends as much as possible to pet and love on the senior dogs. The staff and volunteers are very knowledgeable, gracious, and welcoming to all people coming in their doors. Once we finally move into a place that allows pets we will be adopting from Muttville!
The Best Place To Go For Adoption of a "Senior" Best Friend
I adopted my best fur friend from muttville 6 years ago. They take great care of their dogs and I highly recommend working with this organization if you are looking for an older dog to make a part of your family.
Never underestimate how fun and rewarding it is to adopt an older dog. They know how to behave, are potty trained, and appreciate that you gave them a home. You will love it and them.
I love this place. They've saved hundreds of dogs and brought awareness to senior dogs fully deserving of a good home.
Their commitment to older dogs is outstanding. We support them any way we can
This is such a special organization. They attract such amazing volunteers and train them perfectly on how to care for the dogs. Whether you want to foster or adopt the experience is seamless. I occasionally foster Muttville dogs and love every minute of it.
My girlfriend and I absolutely love Muttville. While we haven't adopted any other the senior animals available at this adoption center yet, we do frequent it to give the senior doggies some muxh needed love. This place is located around the corner from the Soith San Francisco SPCA and adopts out SENIOR dogs, most of which obviously have health conditions that need special care. Old doggies need love too. $200 adoption for single dogs, bonded pairs adopt out BOTH animals for the same $200 rate.
Fostering one of Muttvilles sweet mutts...Apricot. Get on down here n take your Fur-ever! HOME.
What an amazing place! It's clear Muttville people take such great loving care of their dogs! Thank you!
I love the volunteers (Gabriella), and the fact that it is an organization that gives loving care to senior dogs. Hats off to you all.
Muttville is AWESOME!!!!! I volunteer there and I love it. The people are so helpful and the dogs are sooooo sweet! No one should give this amazing place a bad review or they should be banned from earth!!!!!! Thanks to muttville over 1000 dogs are rescues a year!!
We adopted our little old girl here!!! super nice!!!
This organization does awesome work for dogs who are elderly and who have special needs. I love there forspic program, and the work they do with senior people who cannot have a dog where they live but can come into muttville and spend time with some of the dogs. Thank you so much to all the Volunteers and vets who helped take care of these doggies
From the moment you walk in the Muttville front door you will feel the love for all the Sweet Seniors! (& be greeted by some cuties) We showed up without an appointment (Didn't know we needed one) but we were welcomed in and treated like Muttville family. It was one of the Best Days Ever, one I will never forget. The service & care that every Sweet Senior gets is above & beyond! All the cuties got the golden ticket when they arrived here. This will be my new donation place. If you want your heart to feel full stop by and make a donation today! And like Muttville says: because it's never too late for a new beginning.....
Dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs. For the love of dogs.
Best adoption center for senior dogs! The dogs are treated like royalty and happy.
These people are so passionate about getting older dogs new homes. Check them out.
Such a great place to adopt. The staff members are so friendly and loving towards each senior dog.
Best rescue ever. Focused on senior dogs, their compassion is unrivaled
Pups were so cute and lovable. So hard to leave without adopting one!
It is so loving and caring and kind they give so much attention to the other dogs
I met my sweet senior pup at Muttville! They are such great humans and really care for the animals. I'm so proud to support them! Kuma (formerly named sister) is the sweetest girl and we have so much fun together. Thank you, Muttville!
This is a wonderful organization! I traveled from Washington State to Muttville and adopted a lil Chi that has changed my life.
Accompanied a friend for an adoption, which I believe they cal fostering here. Muttville seems to specialize in elderly dogs. Very sad how many dogs are abandoned especially designer breeds. There must have been 18 various chihuahuas. Come on people, grow up.
Muttville advertises that they rescue older dogs, fix them up and find homes for them. I adopted a nine year old dog and when I took him to my vet for a health check, I found out he had extensive dental issues that required oral surgery. In two and half months I've spent over $2,000 in vet bills. Muttville was supposed to cover it, but they refused after I had the surgery done. I'm a senior on a fixed income. I've been lied to and conned. I love my dog and I'm going to keep him despite this horrible experience.
We got our beagle Carter from Muttville, he is a sweetheart and makes everyone who meets him so happy! Muttville is an amazing organization! So thankful for what they do for these pups! Please consider adopting a senior mutt from them!
What an awesome place with an awesome group of people caring for these older dogs. We adopted a 9 year old Chihuahua named Gino. We love him so much!
This place and the people are so wonderful. I adopted the perfect little dog for me.
Staff is so friendly and helpful and the dogs are so sweet!
y dog from muttville brought joy to my life and was the best thing I ever did.
Wonderful operation. They find homes for senior dogs. Very professional. Dogs are well cared for and friendly. Mostly small dogs but a few medium and large.
A friendly and welcoming site for those hoping to find an older dog for their lives. Despite the number of senior dogs who are accepted, each gets lots of affection, care and socialization so that they are ready for their new home. Staff did a great job matching me with an appropriate friend, and I always feel welcome on return visits.
Muttville is the place to meet the cutest old dogs who need a forever home to spend their golden year in! ADOPT A SENIOR!
Absolutely stellar senior dog rescue! No dogs in cages. It's like a huge living room inside of one of Doris Day's mansions. All volunteer run and the dogs are loved on and adored, 24/7.
Everyone that works and volunteers here has been very nice. They are doing a wonderful thing for old dogs.
When I am having a bad day I check in with their website. Cute looking res cue dogs and you know they will be finding them great homes.
I'm 80 and it's good to know that if I shouldn't be able to keep my dag, it can go back to Muttville and find a good home.
These people do such great work and the sweet old dogs here seem so happy. The place is definitely worth checking out.
Great rescue helping senior pets find amazing homes.
Great Define a senior companion very lovable and likes to sit on laps that's what I love about Senior Dogs
Muttville does AMAZING things for senior dogs in need. If you are looking for a furry friend please adopt a senior from Muttville!! You won't be disappointed!!!
Their loss (previous owner) is my gain - my 10-1/2 year old teacup chihuaha Bamboo (aka Boo) is the cutest, sweetest dog and she is so bonded to me after a few weeks. She now sports a whole new wardrobe too!
One of the BEST rescue shelters for "old" dogs, nice staff. Parking can be tricky.
This place takes such a good care of dogs. This is the place to go if you are planning to adopt a senior dog. If you are not sure or do not have enough time, I'd recommend fostering. Just make sure you fill in the online application and have an appointment set up before you go for fostering.
