Lovely place historic theater GREAT PRODUCTIONS !! SOME TIMES BETTER THEN BROADWAY!!!
I love going to gateway playhouse. They put on the best shows on Long Island. Second to New York City Broadway shows only. Many of the actors in their shows are Broadway level actors. These are not hobby actors. Just saw Forbidden Broadway. What a Great Production. At the end when the actors took their bows I was stunned to realize that particular show contained only 4 actors. (Note I am using actor as a gender neutral noun in place of saying actors and actresses).
They do not allow photos so no photos to post. Sorry!
They do have a bar and on a nice evening it s lovely to get there early and sit outside and sip on a glass of wine.
The parking is on grass and pebbles there are no formal parking lots so ladies when picking out shoes keep this in mind.
The Gateway Theater is always a great venue to see great shows. Memphis was so amazing !
Gateway's Haunted Playhouse is a phenomenal experience, and probably the best haunted house on the island. The actors are very theatrical, scenery is amazing, and you get your money's worth in terms of length. Went twice this year!
Convenient parking, good seating, accommodating staff .
Every production I have seen here is like watching a movie live, awesome set design, always an excellent cast, entertainment the way you expect it and if you can handle a good scare check out the haunted house in the fall, tell them Tony A form the farm sent you
There is really incredibly high quality theater happening here. If the playhouse were in the city it could easily be classified as an Off-Broadway theater.
The best. I've seen other productions of Cabaret, but this was far superior. Josh Cantwell gave an excellent performance. I saw him in Memphis last month and he was suburb. How he nailed to completely different roles is unbelievable. Courtney Wolfson was magnificent too. Her perfect voice not only sang but acted at the same time delivering the songs emotion. I had never heard the song "Cabaret" sung with such feeling before. It was usually song in a flat almost monotone voice in a failed effort to portrait the sadness intended at the shows conclusion. I have to mention the set design and the smoothness of the set changes. They were a work of genius. The rest of the cast deserve a thumbs up too. Possibly the best show Gateway has every done and I have loved quite a few.
Not so spooky is amazing! The tour is great and engaging for little children. And the haunt itself is even better.
absolutely amazing. great time, very very scary. deff the best on the island will go back.
Disappointed in the spook walk this year. Not enough performers
Scary haunted house. I love the camouflage of the actors, you dont know theres someone there until your an inch from them. Best hiding I've ever seen.
The only bad thing is they dont seperate people enough, you see them scare the people in front of you too much. Awesome haunt, ive gone to every house and this is the 5th best in the tristate area.
We saw Memphis. Excellent production
At Gateway. We have learn to expect
Excellence at Gateway
Always the BEST! Great singing, dancing, acting, and production values! Thanks so much for all your hard work! As good as Broadway. Keep it up, guys! And THANKS!!
It was very fun for the first 30 min or so but after that you kind of want to just get out of there. We also caught up to the group ahead of us which killed the surprise factor.
The play was very professional. The actors had great voices. The scenery was done very well. I had a good time.
The haunted house was fun but this year they were just releasing groups way too close to each other, we ended up in a line of about 30 people. If you have ever been in a haunted house standing and waiting in a long line of people isnt exactly scary.
Saw 'On the Town'. The quality of dancing, singing, and acting were of Broadway caliber while tickets were a third or less of the price. Sets were amazing. Theater itself is a bit worn and in need of a face lift, but comfortable and small enough that everyone can see a good show. The theater campus and surrounding town and waterfront s lovely. Gateway's mission to promote musical theater education is appreciated.
Enjoyed Forbidden Broadway. Small theatre. Every seat a great view
Friendly staff, great shows, concession stand is reasonable. Seats unfortunately are very uncomfortable. Also seating would be better if it tilted higher so people in the back can have better views.
Drive In movies.
Ever since the pandemic, The Gateway has been playing good movies hits in their drive in series. Back To The Future, Men In Black, etc. It'svery smoothly the way they do it. From scanning the tickets to directing you where to park. Staff is courteous and helpful .
Model and actress, Isabella Rossellini was seated in front of us, so that was a plus. The lobby of the theater was unbearably hot, but the theater itself was very comfortable. The theater is small, so any seat is a good one. The show itself was very racey, great acting and production value.
We saw The Bodyguard. The lead singers were good. The band was fair . The AC was not that good.
We had season tickets for many years but the last few years the show's were repetitive. We have been going to other venues lately.
It was so good. Wanted it not to end. So much talent. FABULOUS. Five stars
Best haunted house ever Bellport is so lucky to have them. Great people great food, thanks for a great time
Getting into the theater was a mob scene. Many elderly felt extra crowded. I have been taking a group for many years and never experienced this before.
We love this place and been seeing shows here for over 25 years. Last night we had the pleasure of seeing the Bodyguard. The casting, the acting and set designs were perfect. Because we are such tremendous fans of Whitney Houston we took the front row. But unfortunately the sound system was not working and they had horrific feedback during the musical numbers, there was such a loud crack during one of the numbers that it caused a terrible ringing in my ear that I still woke up with. By the end the sound system finally blew out and the voices were no longer recognizable . This was a shame for the cast and crew and everyone works so hard on the show and lets not forget the very expensive seats at $90 a each. We ve never been so disappointed in this theater. We won t be going back until we hear the sound system has been fixed properly.
Fantastic Show (Sound of Music). Great performance, scenery, lighting, everything. Easy parking, always a pleasure!
This old renovated dairy barn started out doing summer stock where Robert Duvall got his start.
Every year they do 5 musicals which are all enjoyable.
My husband & I usually hang around a bit after the show and get to talk to cast members. They really enjoy hearing from folks about how they enjoyed the show.
Season tickets are a great buy.
This is a great alternative to Broadway as many of the actors have done Broadway and television.
Concessions are very limited., I advise you to bring your own snacks . Acoustics not so great in Patchogue theater, a little echo to be noticed and vocals are not so clear ! Show that I saw was not even close to Off Broadway quality ! You get what you pay for, I suppose?
Really great setup and the haunted house was good. They serve beer and have a lot of activities while you wait.
Fantastic! Local playhouse putting on Broadway quality shows. Caring staff that ensures that all patrons have an enjoyable experience!
I saw Rocky Horror Picture Show here. I felt as though I was in the movie. The players brought the movie to life, filled with energy and enthusiasm that give Rocky Horror its uniqueness, something FOX couldn't do. The lively audience added to the atmosphere. I can't wait to return to see another one of their plays. This is how you do theatre - and at a great price may I add!
It was the best until I almost punched Aton of clowns!!
Fun and scarie nite at the gateway playhouse haunted mansion
What a wonderful experience. The performance was top notch. It brought me to tears.
Recently, because of the covid-19 pandemic, a lot of venues have been converting their parking lots into pop-up drive ins. so far, my friends and I have come here to see raiders of the Lost ark, The breakfast club, and Jaws. Always a fun time
Saw "On your Feet" there, excellent professionally done show.
Love bellport location intimate all good seats. Worth the money
I had such a great time! I've been going to Gateway for 7 yrs now and its different everytime. Gets better every year. They've added extra security. Not sure why but it didnt take away from the fun.
Its a must see! One more week before the last show this season so hurry.
SWING
..talent beyond wonderful..the dancers.the singer's and the incredible band, has made this show A MUST SEE
Gateway haunted playhouse is the best experience every year. Never disappointed
Just rating the Not so Scary Haunted Gateway for kids - It is a great experience for kids 7 and younger. My older two kids have been coming here for years but are now done with it. (They are 10 and 12). Nothing really changes in the kids section.
Spooky walk was ok..but wanted more...not like the other ones...
Couldn t give this place and the haunted house performance a 6 star, but I would of if I could. I go into these with a humorous approach and was so happy to not see one of the actors break their character and either laugh or comment at me. I went to the Calverton one and it was meh. This one though was just unbelievable and as genuine I ve found on Long Island so far. Thanks for being here
Nice playhouse wish seats were more comfortable. The play we saw was fantastic, loved it!
Live and Let Die was AMAZING! Was that Paul McCartney himself on stage! Great sound and song selection! And what...is that Tommy from Mazarin ...brought me back to my 20s and following the bands! Great show! Love to see them again!
Up close and personal
No need to go to N.Y.C. actors so professional, allowed one to escape with the music and dialogue.
We had a great time. The production of Alladin Jr. was amazing. Cant wait to go back.
I am a season ticket holder for many years. I had an amazing experience yesterday with your box-office associates, Joanne & Erin. I needed to make a few date changes. They both handled the situation very professionally & very efficiently. Special thank-you to them & to the management.
show was phenomenol we belong to several broadway theatre groups and constantly tell our friends about Gateway that it`s as good as broadway and much cheaper. Also the restaurants are terrific especially the Bellport. We live in Manhattan and Bath and Tennis hotel on week ends in the summer,we constantly tell our LI people about Bellport ,many don't seem to know about it. Have written to Todd Haimes several times expressing our extreme satisfaction re different shows.
My daughter goes to the acting class and it is the best thing for her. They are so great with what they do for their students!!! We also saw Mamma Mia on 8/5/17, that was a GREAT show. Thanks Gateway for all you do!!
