Dromoland Castle Hotel & Country Estate
Lovely comfortable peaceful setting with lots to do and plenty to eat. 5 star prices so come with money. Will return. All staff so friendly with the exception of one man was very rude to my elderly parents.
Great place but the price for drinks are through the roof.
Beautiful Castle Just fantastic for a treat Excellent food and service
Ah lads, stopped off for lunch and a nosey. Great food, service, sense of occasion. Worth the premium price.
Beautiful grounds. Friendly staff. Lovely food but very overpriced. A little out of the way.
A 5-star hotel with 5-star service. The hotel is elegant.
Majestic place to get together with friends or a group. We had a private meeting room all to ourselves, grand fireplace, our own bartender, a few folks circulating with hors d'oeuvres that were quite good!
An experience like no other. Step back in time and imagine what it was like to be a guest in a castle. Beautiful grounds, exceptional service. We enjoyed falconry, strolling through the beautiful grounds and gardens. My husband and daughter took a row boat out for some early morning fishing. The ammenities were incredible. You will not be disappointed.
Beautifully located, surrounded by a superb 18 hole golf course, woods & walkways. Top class food.Well worth a visit.
We had a wonderful time here even though it was pricey it felt worth it just for the experience.
Beautiful scenery throughout the Castle & grounds. Bring your sticks because the golf course is not only beautiful but fun to play as well. I'd recommend taking a little walk around the Castle grounds. So much beauty throughout this place. Our room/bed was very comfortable & the staff were very friendly. I'd definitely stay here again.
The most magnificent building and experience I have been too.
Words fall short to express my gratitude to all at Dromoland Castle for their kindness and hospitality shown towards us during our stay. From the warm welcome at the door by Gerald to the Hospitality Host Alma, Sophie's bubbly enthusiasm on More
We enjoyed a wonderful afternoon tea in the magnificent Earl of Thomond dining room. The food was beautiful and the piano playing really added to the experience. Highly recommended!
Excellent service and good food. Room has spectacular view of lake and woods.
One of the best Ireland can offer in luxury accommodation. A beautiful castle on it's own estate with its own 18 hole golf course.
Incredibly luxurious, centrally located experience on the west coast. There aren't enough words, and the ones we have pale in comparison to the actual experience. If you are staying on the west coast and want to treat yourself like royalty, Dromoland is THE place to stay. Everyone, from the cleaning staff to the guest services to the breakfast staff was over the top wonderful, seeing to every detail of our stay and offering anything we could possibly think of needing. The grounds are expansive and beautiful. Wildlife roams the grounds and is beautiful. The lake offers a unique view of the castle and taking a short trip on one of the provided boats is a great relaxing way to spend an afternoon. there are dozens of trails leading to any sort of view you'd want to see on the estate and all fairly easy to walk. John Wood is an amazing chess player. Make time for a game with him! Clare at Guest Services is very knowledgeable and helpful with tips, bookings and advice about day trips. Claire, the Galway student and our server at breakfast, was kind, attentive and helpful. The entire staff was extraordinary, but these three stood out for their service and attention during our stay. Also notable was Damien, the falconer. He was exceptionally knowledgeable (though we were able to stump him on one question) and did his best to make sure we had a fantastic experience with Ophelia, our falcon and while visiting the aviary. Pickles is adorable. The castle is centrally located and a short drive will take you to Galway, The Cliffs, Limerick, or Doolin and a trip to the Aran Islands. Ennis is a beautiful town very nearby and anyone can direct you to a good spot, whether its food, games, pubs, or antiques that you're seeking. Really. its just the best place to be and was a fantastic end to our time in Ireland.
Course splendid.....no faults with the Hotel...prices a bit heavy in the Club House
Everything about our visit was exceptional. The food, the service and the atmosphere. What a wonderful experience. My mother and I will never forget our tea time at Dromoland Castle.
This is the second time I stay here and it's Amazing this place is the exactly like they say it is beautiful the rooms are like a place where a king and his queen would sleep if you looking for a place to celebrate your anniversary this place will blow your Mind amazing food the staff wait on your every need it might be a little costly but worth every dollar don't look at anything else go here!!!
Just like a dream living in the castle era.Beautiful
Did falconry with Damien on the grounds of Dromoland. It was amazing! Highly recommend!
Didn't get to see enough to review but I'm sure it's amazing
Had a wonderful afternoon tea there today. The staff are so attentative. Thank you for a very special birthday treat
Not much of the the castle that we were able to see without getting a room there but very cool and beautiful place to see. I would most definitely recommend having afternoon tea there. Very very nice and upscale. I would like to get a room there just to see the rest of the castle
Beautiful scenery, fantastic room and wonderful staff!
Great place to stay, historical, set in beautiful surrounds. Amazing service and facilities. Team here know how to look after their customers. Food is superb.
Great hospitality an amazing facilities and wide range of activities
I regret that I was only able to stay for a day since we were only passing through. We had tea next to the fire in one of the parlors which was fantastic. Had dinner which was good (4 stars), presentation of the dinner (5 stars), service and hospitality of the wait staff at dinner (5 out of 5 stars). All the staff here went above and beyond for us. This was our first trip to the Ireland and the stay here was the highlight of a wonderful experience.
Amazing grounds to walk around with the castle as a backdrop. Plenty if variety with woodlands, fields and lake. The food is excellent also
Brilliant hotel for families. Play area at back of hotel which is cheaper for residents. Games room for kids. Affordable bar menu suited to adults and children. Spacious room. Only negative is you can hear children running up and down the halls late in to the night.
Amazing! The Castle is beautiful. The rooms are newly renovated to a very high standard. So lovely and cosy. Staff are wonderful; extremely helpful and friendly. Greatest breakfast of any hotel, guesthouse or B&B we have ever tasted. Great bar and food. A little pricey. But it is a treat!
The only problem about this place is that I live in the states and its in amazing stunning Ireland. I stayed here for my honey moon over 10 years ago and not a week goes by when I don't think about this place and how amazing it is. As one review said its magical...that sadly is an understatement it is a source of enchantment and wonderment. I have been a world traveler I have been to the worlds Luxury hotels in my time but this place is one that I remember the most. amazing amazing amazing nothing in this world compares..
Wonderful friendly staff , great food, lovely walks and fantastic golf course.
Had a marvellous dinner in the golf club restaurant then a little tipple in the hotel bar, everything was first class & wonderful just as one would expect from a 5 star establishment but it was rather expensive now I'm sure that doesn't matter in the slightest to its usual clientele, but I had to take out a bank loan and I was only visiting rich relations fortunate to be staying in the hotel for the night.
The hotel is situated 5 mins drive away from the golf facilities . The hotel itself was terrific ,the staff were friendly and efficient ,the food including the breakfast was excellent and the bar had live music on both of the nights we stayed I could not fault it and would thoroughly recommend it particularly if you are playing golf - the picture is from the golf course
we loved our stay. The staff is the best. So much to do we needed another week here!!
Could stay there...many days. Wonderful staff and facilities.
Beautiful place highly recommended for a treat of afternoon tea
Everything was great! The rooms were huge. The staff was friendly and helpful. If you get to so the falconry make sure to pet Mr. Pickles.
Location was easy to get to, did not spend the night just a day playing golf and horseback riding. Service was perfect.
Beautiful, go for a look, no need to be a guest, ask for what you want, not the set menu. It's an awesome place with friendly staff.
After noon tea just beautiful. Lovely room lovely food. Great price
Absolutely beautiful castle and grounds. There is even a secret garden! Got prof. Photos taken here of family.
Very good place to eat and have a walk lovely place
Could not wish for a more beautiful setting, room, breakfast or staff we had a wonderful time and would go back in the future anytime.
Disappointing that once again the Hydro Pool was not working in the Spa.
Stunning place. Very friendly staff and an excellent spot to unwind.
Absolutely fantastic if their was 10 stars I'd give it
Dromoland Castle is breathtakingly beautiful and the food and staff are exceptional. Look no further for a fancy getaway or delicious meal than here.
Food service attention to detail outstanding, top quality food .staff very attentive and knowledgeable very professional.Superb location in idyallic surroundings .
This is a great places u can have tea and cake cheap
I don't even no where to begin with this review. Our experience at Dromoland castle was out of this world what made it extra special is we just got engaged at the cliffs of moher before our arrival for our 2 night stay in this fabulous hotel. To say we were treated like king and queen would be an understatement, the staff kindly upgraded our room. Champagne at breakfast was a special treat from the GM. The staff, the room, the grounds, the food / drink we could fault absolutely nothing. I had a treatment in the spa and it was just what the doctor ordered, thanks to Dervla. We will 100% be back to stay here and are recommending it to all our family and friends. If your reading this review don't think twice just book it!
Amazing place, not what I was expecting. Not posh or showy but more class. Really worth a visit
Incredibly beautiful place. The rooms are luxurious and comfortable. The bathrooms are very nice. It's a nice addition that a dual outlet is provided for American plugs. The restaurants serve typical Irish grub. Everything we tried was very good. The staff were as pleasant and helpful as could be hoped for. Highly recommend for anyone wishing to be pampered and experience a place from another time. Would love to come back!
Stunning! From the time we arrived to the time we left we received 5 star service. It was the big things & the little things. From the higher end bathroom amenities to the turn down services. I would highly recommend a visit to Dromoland.
Staff are so accomodating and friendly and it is such a relaxing place with a wonderful afternoon tea!
Dromoland Castle is a wonderful place to stay. The grounds are beautiful, the rooms and service impeccable. We signed up for the hour-plus falconry experience and my met Grace, a Harris falcon undergoing training. We we're her first "regular people" and we could see the difference in her behavior over the training session. We also took a Pony and Trap ride around the estate and learned a lot about its history. Dinner in the main hotel restaurant was one of the best we have ever had, and was accompanied with music played by a talented harpist. The dinner we had at the golf club restaurant was also very good and the service both places was excellent. I also enjoyed walking along the golf cart path at the golf course early in the morning. The fitness equipment in the leisure centre looked good, but the center was not open before 8 while we were there (on the weekend).
