Most recently I tried the sweet potato sandwich here for lunch, which I would definitely order again. Every time I come in, I try different pastries since there are so many that look good. Unfortunately it's busy here almost all the time, so expect to wait a while in a giant crowd for your food.

I love this place. It's a go to whenever my mom visits. Usually a 25 min wait if they are full but totally worth it if you're not in a rush. Staff is awesome and I've never had a bad visit!

City Girl Cafe is my go-to place for a quick (but good!) sandwich in Inman Square. The grilled chicken breast panini is always made to perfection and my favorite! Their brunch is really good too. The only thing that would make this place better is iced coffee. They only have regular.

The food is fresh, high quality, and super tasty. Always yummy. Always worth the wait, if there is a line to get in.

The owners and staff are friendly and kind. Everyone here has a smile on their face, patrons included.

The first surprise was how delicious the Arnold Palmer was. It jolted me to live due to the tartness of the freshly squeezed lemonade. I was off to a great start. Then the sandwich arrived. The slaw, capers, lightly battered soft shell crab and a slice of prosciutto to finish it off was fantastic. They even toasted the bun

I really miss the cozy evenings at City Girl for dinner (though the brunch is also excellent), so I recently rented out the place for my partner's birthday. We had such a fantastic time! The staff made everything so easy and the food was absolutely delicious. Would highly recommend for a special occasion for a smaller crowd.

City Girl might be small, but it makes up for size with its big yum factor. My go-to item is their chicken panini. The aioli mixed with the bacon...it is just so good! I have tried their pasta dishes and have liked all that I have tried. Their brunch menu is small but great. I particularly have enjoyed the eggs verde. It has so much flavor, and even their potatoes and toast (yes, toast)are yummy.

A not-so-hidden gem. Lovely, attentive staff; exceptional, creative food; it s pretty small, with a capacity of just 19, but worth the wait (there s not much room inside in which to wait). Breakfast standouts: biscuits and Asiago sausage gravy... veggie hash and eggs. Dinner is rooted in Italy and delicious. It s a top notch local joint well worth a visit.

Update: they re no longer doing dinner as of Feb 20, 2019.

We have used City Girl for years now to cater our lunch talk events at Harvard. They provide wonderful sandwiches and very reliable service. I find their sandwiches to be the best in Cambridge!

Cozy little place with lots to try on the menu. I had the pasta with brocoli and chicken. Lots of cheese and garlic made it tastier than I expected. They've got some paninis on the lunch menu that I'm dying to try.

If you haven't had brunch here, prepare to have your mind blown (especially by the french toast. Or the biscuits and gravy. Pretty much everything). One word of advice--get there a few minutes before 10:00, because there is almost always a line for the first hour or two.

I had tried to get lunch here before at noon on a Sunday, but there was a lot of people waiting outside and was told the wait would be 30-40 minutes. I decided to give it another try and this time came at about 1:30 pm, thankfully there was no wait then and was seated immediately. I had the goat cheese and egg sandwich and it was amazing. The waiter and waitress are both quite friendly and the service was relatively fast. The restaurant is quite tiny and has this homely feeling, but it can get quite crowded and there is usually a line.

Delicious comfort food. Small space, close seating, but managed well by wait staff. Did I mention delicious comfort food? Some slightly unusual stuff, too -- the lightly herbal rosemary lemonade is wonderful.

If you don't want to wait for a table, make sure to arrive before 10am! It's that popular!

All in all, a decent place. The cafe itself isn't that spacious so we had to wait about 15 minutes, which wasn't bad for brunch/lunch time. The atmosphere itself was homey and quaint, but don't expect too much space to spread out.

I split the eggs and sausage gravy biscuits and the Monte Carlo with a friend and I'd say both were decent. The biscuits were tender delicious and paired nicely with the sausage gravy, which provided some moisture as a complement to the biscuits . The scrambled eggs were subpar, however, and taste almost like fake eggs. They were kind of stiff and without much flavor.

The Monte Carlo was this panini of sorts with some meat and sauce, sandwiches by what appears to be French toast made from baguettes. It was an interesting combination, but not bad. The filling was great and I really enjoyed the sauce. I didn't think the potatoes on the side were anything special though. Overall a great brunch dish.

If you're looking for a casual place for brunch or to grab a bite, I'd recommend this place. They also have a pretty good alcohol selection for a cafe their size (no cocktails though, mainly beer and wine). The food was good and servers were kind, resulting in a pleasant experience.

A small cafe just feels like its home , tiny ! The Romania pizza is really delicious. It is absolutely fresh food. The host is good and always wear smile . The only thing is the table for 2 people is small and congested. But it wont bother you a lot as the food is amazing.

I loved city girl for years and years, and I just recently found out that it now exclusively does brunch, no dinner. I don t know weather to be upset or not. They had the most amazing pasta and good pizza too, it s sad to think I ll never be able to have it again. Oh well :(((
Anyway, the staff is friendly and it always smells so amazing, I used to take extra time walking by it so I could breathe deeper I have a lot of good memories connected to city girl too, like my 13th birthday dinner and my first date. My date s parents were friends with some of the staff or owners or something and they were super kind and gave us complimentary bruschetta. If you re ever in the Inman square area city girl is definitely a place to check out!

I've only been for breakfast/brunch and they have consistently served great food. Cozy atmosphere, attentive service, and free coffee refills. The one downside is there is usually a wait, which is worth your time.

This is one of two go-to brunch places in Cambridge (Tupelo being the other one). City Girl is totally awesome on most counts - the Monte Christo is to die for, and so is the vegetable hash. All egg dishes are superb, but if you like the ingredients in the omelette-of-the-day, you should get that. The waitstaff is super chill. The only bummer is that they don t take reservations, so on weekends you can wait for up to 30-40 min for a table. Go early, as in before 12 pm, if you want to avoid that.

Whether you're enjoying a hearty brunch (make sure to arrive early to guarantee a table) or an Italian dinner, CGC serves delicious food in an intimate, fun setting. The homemade pizzas and French toast are particularly tasty.

Daughter and wife are gluten free. I needed to find a place that had good gf so this was fit the bill. Make a quick call and had them hold for pick up and bypassed the huge crowd in there. This was a Saturday morning.

I wanted to like this place a lot, I've heard really good things for friends. I'd say go check this place out for brunch where it really shines.

Our server was incredibly friendly and the menu has creative but not too fancy topping options, those are the goods!

The place does not have AC and we went on a hot night so that was kind of a bummer, not a deal breaker but note worthy.

The beer and wine list is small but littered with enough interesting things there is something for everyone.

Unfortunately our food was really average to boring. The salad was a bowl of kale with 4 croutons and under dressed. The fig and prosciutto pizza should have been great but the figs were completely lost, the prosciutto undercooked and the crust over crispy, kind of an odd combination. It wasn't offensive but you can definitely get better pizza elsewhere.

Worth checking out, maybe it was just over hyped but it was kind of a meh experience.

Tiny cute restaurant specializing in nice pasta and pizza in Inman Square. Romano cheese on everything yum. Specials always. Nice wine and beer list. Very small, only a handful of tables, so you might have to wait but it is worth it. My favorite restaurant!

Upon arrival to this establishment i was unsatisfied with the lack of available spacing with such a meniscal confinedment. I was also irritated with the fact of felling in a sensed rushed to leave said establishment due to the acclimation of more guest. Furthermore when offering complementary coffee i would recommend one isn't charged for said coffee. In conclusions i was quite displessed with the lack of quality coustemer service and the experience.

I love the food at CGC, especially their brunch dishes. You can't really go wrong with anything on the menu and a nice beer.

Do not worry if you see a line outside their door, it tends to move quite quickly

I think I was really lucky the time I came here because this place is small, a little unnoticeable, but a real gem once you step inside. The interior is perfectly cozy and the staff were nice. My friend and I ate brunch here and we were both really happy with our food. The brunch menu, as I remember, isn t large, so easy to make a choice. The coffee is served in retro cups and refillable. This is the kind of place I would want to just spend the whole morning catching up with old friends in. Really happy I didn t have to wait at all for a table, but while we were eating there definitely was a line forming.

The quintessential brunch destination in Cambridge. Cozy, quirky and delicious, the least surprising portion of the experience is typically reasonable wait to get in. From apple cider mimosas to a roasted cauliflower omelette, the delicate execution on brunch staples with a playful twist will have you happily waiting outside another weekend.

Amazing egg sandwiches. Eggs verde with fontina added for a small extra is THE BEST!
I recommend this place to everyone. It's a hidden gem for lunch, brunch and dinner.

Excellent place for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. The place is quite small but food is delicious. If you want to drift into a dream where you are seating in a small french Cafe then this is the place for you in Boston. Staff is super nice and know their food. Only thing to remember is to reserve a spot for your party and make sure everyone arrives on time. Because they don't give you the table until entire party is there. But considering limited tables and delicious food, one can overlook the limitations.

Cute interior, but pasta was lacking. There was not enough protein and veggies ratio to pasta and cheese. There was more parmesan than I could (literally) stomach and I didn't ask for that parmesan at all: I rather have it separately. I found the pasta to be more expensive than I would rather pay for, hence the low review - service is good, however. Maybe pizza is better, not going back for pasta.

Cute and cozy brunch spot. Definitely can get a little crowded so prepare to wait during peak hours. Have tried their biscuit and sausage, as well as French toast - both of which were flavorful and interesting. Certainly not straightforward boring brunch food!

We found this place on Yelp and it did not disappoint at all! It's a small hole in the wall type of cafe. The inside is decorated beautifully with some plants along the windowsill and a huge chalkboard with their specials. I got the rosemary lemonade which was a nice twist to the regular lemonade that I plan to recreate at home. Pictured is the Monte Cristo: a French toast bread sandwich with turkey, prosciutto and a fig aioli. You can also get maple syrup for a little extra cost to make the sandwich even sweeter! The roasted savory potatoes on the side were even better and the perfect balance to the sweetness.
