CG Trails

CG Trails organized a fantastic experience. The route was scenic and the support along the way was excellent. Communication from the team was clear and effective throughout. Highly recommended by a happy participant.

The team at CG Trails, including Chris and Georgia, made the whole experience feel incredibly welcoming. The course design was perfect for chasing personal records on the laps, and we were lucky to have great weather to enjoy it. It was a nice touch seeing the handcrafted DNF medals, which really showed the attention to detail in their organization. I’d definitely look out for the next event at their venue.

I had a fantastic experience at the inaugural CG Trails event. Chris and Georgia were incredibly responsive, sorting out all my pre-race queries promptly. The course starts with a bit of a climb but quickly opens up into lovely woodlands and open fields before looping back on concrete paths, offering plenty of scenic views along the way. I really loved the BYU format; seeing everyone come together every hour created a wonderful sense of community among the runners, supporters, and organizers alike. The team was super friendly and did an amazing job looking after participants throughout the event. It was a pleasure meeting everyone, and I’ll definitely be back.

I had a fantastic experience at my first backyard ultra organized by CG Trails. The atmosphere was incredibly welcoming, thanks to the supportive fellow runners and the dedicated event staff. The course was varied and engaging, featuring an interesting mix of terrain that had dried out nicely despite the earlier rain. It felt like a close-knit, intimate event, making it the perfect setting for a debut in this format.

My experience with CG Trails at the inaugural Mapledurham Backyard Ultra was fantastic. As a newcomer to these events, I was thrilled with how well-run everything was. Having never tackled distances over 30k, this was the ideal challenge. The team provided excellent support and clear communication, ensuring everyone knew exactly where to go. The course design was clever, with a steep hill at the start of each lap followed by a rewarding downhill stretch. Chris and Georgia clearly poured their passion into organizing this stunning event. It’s a highly recommended option for anyone considering a backyard ultra.

As a first-time backyard ultra participant, I found the format excellent. It’s a fantastic way to test your endurance, refine your pacing, and fine-tune your nutrition and hydration strategies for those longer ultras (50m+). The course at Mapledurham was lovely, and the atmosphere among the runners was truly special. My only regret was being unable to push through to my maximum limit. I’d love to see CG Trails bring this event back to this location soon.
