My son had to go to the ER here for a concussion as well as I had to go here for falling down a staircase at another time. The ER doctors and nurses immediately accused my husband of wife beating when I went. They were ok to my kid the other time. The billing department however is a mess. I would get bills late because of the mailmen but would pay faithfully on the account. I received threatening phone calls every month from them at first and every time I would say I got your bill on such and such a date and mailed it out then. They would check and see that I had sent it and apologized but the next month I would get another phone call going over the same thing. In order to prevent this, I started to put notes on the bill: "received on (date)" and mailed " on date" and asked for them to generate the bills sooner so I would get it. One time the man told me that "they didn't send out bills every month" to which I replied "I need a bill to pay it because my life is busy. I will forget without one". After I started asking for the bills to be mailed sooner, I started getting letters back in the mail from them. Bills are due every month at the same time or you are not getting this because of the mailman. I understood and continued to send my payments in as I do with any bill I have. Finally the last bill I wrote "Paid in full." I got a Mr. Smotes calling me on the phone stating that he didn't want notes in the mail anymore and was really sarcastic. He told me to call him instead. What a bunch of unprofessional people has been my thought through this whole process. I ALWAYS pay my bills; I have excellent credit; and they are treating me like a deadbeat. I would not go here again unless I am unconscious or dying.

Disrespectful. Unhelpful. Incapable of providing standard, basic hospital practices. I called to check on the status of a family member this morning, and the operator said, "We cannot give that information over the phone." Since when? They've given it out before in the past few months. Also, every hospital I have called elsewhere in the past few months can always give out that basic information. What kind of an idiot would provide an answer like that? (Is that what they would like to hear if they were to call a hospital?) What kind of a buffoon would train someone to say something like that? And what kind of administrative oversight would condone such a terrible, cruel policy as this? A month ago, the ER doctor on duty angrily went on a tirade when asked about the status of a patient. While I have met some friendly and helpful staff, these reprehensible experiences overshadow any kind of positive reputation and service one can expect to receive.

ALWAYS get top notch care here. As good or better than big hospitals. I don't understand the bad reviews at all. I can only guess they come from disgruntled uneducated med seekers? I have just never had a bad experience here.

The Nurse was nice but the female doctor wasn t very professional. She asked me did I come to the hospital normally for what I was there for. No I just like missing out on 700 dollars a day of work. I m from out of town and didn t know where else to go that early in the morning. What back wood hospital has to wait on a actual doctor to come in to the ER anyways..

So lucky to have this hospital in such a small town. People who have left negative comments, to be frank, have no idea what they are talking about. I have worked in emergency rooms and EMS for 30 years and feel qualified to say this is as professional a hospital as any I've been in.
