I had an awful experience at Carbon Computing. I use my computer for work and like most of you, I need it desperately. I was told it would take 2-3 business days for them to even "look" at my machine and if I wanted to jump the line, it would cost me an additional $100. I didn't want to be price-gouged so I opted for the regular waiting time. After 3 business days, I heard nothing from them. It was I who had to keep following up with Carbon Computing to find out what was wrong with my computer and I couldn't get a straight answer. It finally took 7 days until I had my computer back (it was a simple fix) and the staff scared me into thinking I had to buy a new computer, that my current one could die at any moment. I almost did just that but before doing so went to another authorized Apple retailer in Markham who gave me outstanding service (it was well worth the drive). I took my machine there in the morning and had it back that afternoon - and was told my computer was working just fine, that I did not need to buy a new one. Thank goodness I did not listen to the staff at Carbon Computing. Simply put, you are just another number here and the staff is complacent at best. There are far better places you can go that want your business and will look after you. I will never purchase any product or service from this place again - it's awful.

I just had a really great experience with the people working there. I was the jerk that run in right at 2 when it is clearly marked they take their break. Apologized for being a jerk and begged to get my computer bc of a deadline. They were very sweet and patient and computer is up and running! Thanks again for the exception and your patience!!

Had headphone jack issue likely due to water contamination. Buddy tells me it's a big deal and could cost half the value of the phone to repair as it's linked to the motherboard which would also likely be corrupted, he suggested that it may be better to buy a new iphone. Yikes! I said you've got to be kidding me, he says candidly 'no im not'. Turns out little did he know that 'yes he was kidding me'. Took my iPhone over to pc shop computers on queen, $50 later, phone fixed, no big deal!

Purchased some graphics equipment from Carbon when my studio had been broken into. The retail staff put me in touch with one of the professional sales agents and we specc'd out the replacement system I needed. In a couple of days (we had to order in some specific items) my system had been installed and configured to my specific needs, and was installed in my (newly secured!) studio by a Carbon Computing technician. I used to shop at the Eaton's Centre, but I never would have received this service from the Apple Store. I will be a Carbon Computing customer from now on.

I honestly would recommend you go to the Apple store. I dropped my computer off as I had (stupidly) started updating without there being enough space on the drive. They got it out of the loop it was in so I could clean up the drive and try again but at a cost. I appreciate the work they did and that I have a computer that works enough for me to sort through the issue myself, but in terms of customer experience, they left a lot to be desired. I'm not a computer expert, that's why I went to them, but that means that when fixing things or addressing issues a simple explanation of what was attempted and the outcome and what I was receiving back would have gone a long way to helping me understand what I was dealing with when I picked up the computer (the second time). I gave them a drive with multiple backups and got it back broken in addition to a thumb drive I had to purchase from them and a number of the files on my computer corrupted or missing (granted that could have been a result of the software issue...hard to say since they didn't explain it to me). I then had to figure out and deduce based on my experience of the computer what had survived the experience. Just saying if you want a clear sense of what happened and the problem addressed, I'd suggest you go to the Apple store instead.

Took a 2012 Macbook Pro in for repair after it crashed. The issue was just the hard drive cable, which is a free replacement part, but Liz also talked me through hard drive upgrade options since mine was beginning to wear out. I appreciated that it didn't feel like a pressured upsell, just good information about how to keep my machine running longer. Decided to get a new semi solid state drive put in and it's working great. Turnaround time from drop off to pickup was four days.

Hate all computer tech stuff! So getting my laptop repaired is a big deal for me. As mine is an older version-quite old! I emailed the store first to get some idea if parts were available, cost, and time frame for the repair. Received a prompt reply from Devin, tech specialist at the store, who gave me an honest opinion in that parts for this laptop are no-longer available, but possible a part that matched the problem might be found. An estimate of service, parts, costs, and time frame of 2,3, business days for completion, was given. Based on existing problem. At the store, Devin covered all alternate options before deciding the best route if I did not want the expense of servicing an old laptop. Finally, after a demo on an upgrade, and much questioning on my part, I decided to go with the repair, based on all considerations. The repair service, parts costs, were exactly as quoted. Time frame, overnight! As i had to contact family in UK, the turnaround time was greatly appreciated. Thank you, Devin. And front desk staff for your time, information on trade-ins and new computers.

Had a connectivity issue with my wifi, and after 30 minutes on the phone with Apple, they told me I had to take it in. Carbon Computing being close to my place, I took the iMac there, they looked at it and fixed it on the spot. Better than Apple themselves I would say on that one.

I work as an independent technician near by and I sent a customer over after a repair I did because his phone was disabled. I was trying to be helpful and honest since I wanted to help the guy. I didn t care if he wanted a refund or whatever I just wanted the phone fixed and not disabled. So I told him about this place. But later he came back and told me the people were very rude and thought that the charge port was somehow damaged because I changed the screen? They CLEARLY DO NOT know how to repair phones. When you do a screen repair, there s no reason to even TOUCH the charge port. i even did the screen and battery for the s6 in thirty mins and had a lot of time to test everything out. The phone was clearly charging. These guys even said it s impossible to go into recovery mode. When I clearly did it after the customer came back. DO NOT GO HERE. THERE ARE SO MANY OTHER GREAT REPAIR SHOPS NEAR BY. You can literally email me and I ll give you better service than Apple itself

Apple Canada asked me to come here to fix my iMac since all Apple stores are temporary closed and Carbon computing is authorized repairs shop. I paid 325 CAD as they claimed that my hard drive is failing. After 15 days I received my iMac, but they forget to ship my power cord/cable. So I waited for another 4 days. Then, surprise! Computer is worse than before, same problem happened way more frequent the pre-fix. I emailed the store multiple time including retail staffs Alex as well as their technicians Jonathan. After half a month after I paid them, and 3 days after I actively email them for solutions. still no one reply me as my computer sit there , not usable, broken than before. I am communicating with Apple Canada, as they said, Apple can only support me but they cannot tell what carbon computing what to do. I will update once Apple Canada start to have conversation with the store. BE CAREFUL IF YOU ARE FIXING APPLE PRODUCT WITH THEM. After paying money, you can only BEG THEM to do what they were supposed to do. Very sad and horrible service tbh.

I was quite disappointed with a recent experience when I brought my iPhone in to check the malfunctioning battery. They just tow the Apple line - they cannot think independently of the Apple playbook. I d rather visit other third-party repair shops.

Battery died on my 2011 MacBook Air. 1 Phone call, and Alexandra confirmed availability of after-market replacement, an estimate of time require, price and appointment booking. Went in next day, and replacement undertaken almost immediately, instructions provided on how to handle calibration and 1 month later all is working well. Would not hesitate to recommend or utilize their services again. Two thumbs up!
