I am impressed by the work FLL has put into the port. Kind of a pain in the butt to get through security checkpoint with long lines, but the port itself is great.

I have only ever left out of the Princess Cruises terminal so I wouldn t know about any of the other terminals but it is very clean. Porters wait outside to help you with your bags (they only work for tips). Plenty of seats for waiting but usually you don t have to wait long at all. Very efficient, I have traveled around the world embarking and disembarking cruise terminals in many places, and in my personal opinion, Port Everglades is one of the best visited! Each time when we arrived here either to get on or get off our cruise ship it has been done in a very organized manor. It is a well organised system where everything comes together: local police & sheriff agencies, federal customs & boarder patrol, union baggage handlers, ship restocking delivers of food & booze companies, cruise ship staffs and multiple cruise ship operators all in the port at one time. Great to see how it all works! Great experience with Princess Cruises staff!
This is a huge cruise terminal, usually well organized with good signage. It can be a bit chaotic when many ships are arriving or departing on the same day.
Terminal 2 was well organized. Definitely better than the pier in Miami.

Very easy to get in and out of Terminal 25. Clean and seamless. First time traveling through there and I am impressed! From luggage drop off to parking to going through security, it was a great experience! So much organization. Cant wait to travel through there again!
Nice. The embarkation area and service were all very nice. Not overly fancy or better than a nice airport, but not terrible either. The car ride shares (you know ubee/Lyft) are a little crowded but again not terrible.
Port for cruise ships. Very well organized, ample spaces to move between the different accesses to the ramps. High security.
I was working for a cruise line and when I saw the line of cars at security, I thought I'd be late to work. All of the booths were open and it moved surprisingly fast. The security guards were efficient, professional, asked all the right questions, i.e. why I was there, if I had weapons, etc. She told me how to get to the terminal I needed to go to and which parking garage (there are three: Northport, Midport and Southport). Not a bad experience at all.
Highly effective Port to leave on for a cruise. Lots of years with lessons that they put into expanding the port and making it even easier to leave on a cruise no matter how many ships are in Port.
Everything was well planned & on schedule. EXCEPT OUR red line bus ride.

Big port in Miami. The go cart drivers could have been friendlier when we went to incorrect terminal, buy giving us a lift but they didn't. The entry process once at the right terminal was actually smooth.
Horrible experience! Honestly, if we could rate this experience as a zero, we would. First and last time going to this port. Came back from the cruise and accidentally left our sons' luggage. We tried to get it and they (security) wouldn t let us back in- even After offering to give our passport and go through the screening again. After an episode of he said she said and 30 minutes later we found out what the process was. Had to wait till everyone was off the ship before we could get his luggage to scan it in. Of course by then, our son was fussing and we Couldn't leave to get food because of the luggage situation. It was such a messy situation. Port everglades has way too many restrictions and needs to revise their process/policies to make things more convenient and accommodating. It was a horrible way to end our cruise and I DO NOT recommend that anyone use this port. Stick to port Canaveral. They are super organized and their process has been smooth for the past two times that we've gone there.
Not sure if there's public transportation available... We found only uber/ taxi/rental car shuttle can be allowed in..Nothing in the port...
Took intercoastal waterway/New River cruise, very interesting with all the yachts and multi million dollar homes lining the water. Had 6 cruise ships in port that day.
They have it set up, to make it as quick as possible to board, disembark, & pick up luggage. Free shuttle from Port Midland Parking garage to the terminal.
I visited the port to take part in a cruise, a well-served port with all the necessary facilities for boarding and disembarking, as well as for all customs procedures. In addition to cruise ships there is an area for commercial traffic

Absolutely the worst treatment for disembarking passengers that I have ever experienced in over 30 cruises. What a way to welcome people to the USA! Had to shuffle along in a line, pushing all my luggage, for almost TWO hours in order to clear Homeland Security. No Customs, I wonder why? Surely this could be changed so that arriving passengers are not subjected to this ridiculous wait. There is no seating available. Seems almost like Ellis Islandish!
Getting in and out of there is ridiculous. I had to drop somebody off that was going on a cruise and you practically have to give them your first born to get through the gate. I would avoid going down there at all possible in the future.
There's definitely no walking off this peer to town! I texted Uber and went to Walgreens for a few essentIials I needed for the cruise. Being from Washington St I was delighted see lizards ALL OVER.... really pretty lizards but alas they were camera shy. Very humid for me but a lovely area.
Very efficient. Cruise Ship got us off 30 minutes early and now we are in the shuttle heading to car. Highly recommend All Stars (with Fed Star on logo) shuttle transport. Spacious transport bus and drivers very helpful. Multiple people met us at terminal making sure our ride was coming.
Terminal 25 (celebrity edge) is new and innovative, made embarkation a breeze. I hope that the rest of the terminals get updated to this level of sophistication to ease the embarkation /debarkation process. Parking is super convenient.
The Port Director needs to come out and see what it s like on a Saturday. We have been sitting in traffic for over 1.5 hours after getting off 95. There is absolutely no reason this can t be a streamlined experience. Commercial fuel vehicles should be not be allowed to come in during cruise boarding. Also, needing to check ID, this is a joke. Literally seeing if I have ID does nothing for the security of a port.
Broward fleet week. Great free tours of navy and coast guard ships. You must sign up in advance to get clearance and a ticket.

Wish the Port Authority would upgrade the terminals to meet the number of cruise ships and public that pass through the port. Why does Miami get all the new facilities. Total chaos with all the taxis and buses.
No proper solutions to handle the traffic. The security check point (cars entrance) could do much better and efficient. All other experienced was just great
Easy to on and off the cruise ships! Plan ahead if you want to catch a cab. Uber or Lyft is the way to go the busses and cabs are disorganized!
They get you on the ships quickly and efficiently... Don't forget that if you are staying in a suite there is a dedicated security line that bypasses that huge line that usually forms around the building! Works great!

Entered our cruise through the new terminal 25. Everything was well organized and boarded quickly. Have your passport ready when entering through the security gate at beginning of port.
Fort Lauderdale's cruise port. Quick and easy boarding and departure.
Worst port ever be prepared to wait an extra hour to get on and off of your cruise. Nobody that works here seeks to have any idea what's going on. If you have to leave from Florida, Canaveral is way easier.
Kind of silly they have waiting spots but make you move from them. Easy in and out though.
We recently took a cruise of of Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, this being the first time leaving through this port. Although it is a highly industrialized port, we were rather surprised by the cleanliness and efficiency of the environment. Shuttle services were smooth, all staff we encountered were happy & friendly, and the property grounds overall appeared well kept. We have no problems returning to this port again down the road!

Port Everglades is an amazing place and it's our preferred port for cruising from South Florida. It's an awesome experience to leave or arrive at Port Everglades and some of my favorite photos are from Port Everglades before or at sunrise from our balcony of our cruises. Port Everglades is easy to get to from major expressways and from Federal Hwy. It does get very busy so be sure to give yourself enough travel time and expect crowds at the mega cruise lines.
This port is large and can handle the heavy loads of passengers very well. Hats off to BSO and the guards who make it all happen on the roads.
