The front desk staff is honestly so disorganized and rude that it is a reason to consider going elsewhere. This applies especially to boarding, but I have had some difficulties with the vet staff as well. Front desk staff will hang up on you mid call if they can't help resolve an issue. Billing is very disorganized. Overall lack of service, professionalism and organization. However- the vets there are helpful and caring. They make it worthwhile dealing with the front desk/billing staff.

I took my dog to this place bc he got hit by a car and i didn't have alot of money to spend on getting tests and what ever he'd need. This place was awesome when it came to money. Unfortunately they had to amputate his leg and they also neutered him, and gave him all his shots. They also let me make payments bc they understand its hard for a person to come up with all that money at once.

There was nothing I can think of that would have improved my experience. Your Daycare and Kennel staff particularly were very good. They took good care of a high maintenance owner and her sick pooch. Dr Mitchell was particularly caring and knowledgeable of Moxie's needs and past history. Moxie loves you all. (Me too) - Dianna

The service at Blue Ridge was pretty great. My cat recently was unable to use the bathroom. I brought him into the emergency vet around 11pm on a tuesday night. Blue Ridge is open 24 hours but I still got charged more because it wasn't during the day. It was almost $200 just to be seen. Overall, I was happy with this vet and glad they were available in a pinch but I probably won't be back simply because they are WAY to expensive.

I took my sugar glider to a different vet years ago and had a bad experience, so I was really nervous to bring him to a new vet when some issues came up recently. I'm glad I found Blue Ridge though! They were very nice and professional and took good care of Watson even though I'm sure he was difficult. They were very thorough explaining what had been done and the treatment they recommended. I would definitely recommend them especially if you have an exotic pet.

The service at Blue Ridge Veterinary associates has really gone down hill. The front desk people Constantly miss charge me for items purchased and overcharging me. The doctors have missed diagnosed my dog On three separate occasions causing his conditions to be far worse when properly diagnosed. Had to take my dog to a different veterinarian to have him properly diagnosed. I will never use their services and never refer anyone to them again.

Everyone there is extremely helpful, courteous & knowledgeable. They always go above & beyond for my pets & our family. It is always clean & welcoming when we come in. In my opinion, nothing needs to be changed except maybe letting us take the Dr. Hill home - she s a true gem.

Recrnt renovation introduced order kiosks. I suspect that's going to slow service down during busy times. Reminds me of Sheetz but the interface is not as intuitive for unfamiliar guests. Heavy restroom doors make it difficult for guests with a disability. Management must be aware of this because handwritten signs say to ask for help if needed, but who wants to have to do that when you need to use the restroom?

I brought my cat here for a cut on her foot, I was pleased with treatment until after the antibiotic regiment was over. I unwrapped the paw myself to reveal that there had been a new sore/wound around her knee joint with missing hair. It looked as though it was caused by them unwrapping the leg each time she got it rewraped. I was never informed she had this new sore and when I brought it to the attention of the vet they said there was no record of it on her paperwork and furthermore I was told they didn't cause it. I will never use this vet again I am disgusted with the lack of empathy and responsibility they have shown here.

I called Thursday evening about my fur baby. The staff was very polite and concerned about his well being and was able to see him ASAP. Harley is almost 15, blind, death and could not walk. The vet tech came out and carried Harley in as if he was her own pet. He was diagnosed and I was immediately called while waiting in my vehicle. The doctor was very in detailed about explaining his condition, long word but he has dog vertigo . He was carried back to my vehicle and later in his cozy make shift bed. The quality and reliability was so appreciated. I have been going to Blue Ridge Vet for over 5 years. I highly recommend them for ALL you get needs. Very compassionate pet lovers.

Dr. Lori is amazing! I don't know how many patients she sees, but when I bring in my ferret, she remembers that he thinks he is a parrot and can fly and therefore is a jumper. She takes the time to listen and figure out his unique health issues. She has worked creatively to find medications for him when I could not afford brand name Pharmacy compound stuff. She seems to genuinely care. If I need to get a question to her via email, it may take a couple days but she responds as quickly as possible. There is a vet closer, but you all are worth the drive!

Definitely pricier than most other vets but let me tell you--they're worth it! They were great when our 2 month old puppy contracted giardia and pneumonia and had to be kept overnight. They're a 24 hour facility, so the dogs and cats are always being seen to. Plus, they let you call whenever, even at 3am, to check on your furbaby. They also have doggie daycare, which I love because they really get to know your pet and they take them on walks out in the neighborhood or on the nearby trail. Your doggie will come home good and tired (which is especially great when you have a puppy!). They'll also clip your dog's nails for free if you buy a batch of doggie daycare visits. Overall, they provide great care and love your pet like their own--I can't recommend them enough!

This campus is a one stop shop for great animal care. We are always pleased with the TLC and professionalism here. It is a tremendous help to our family to have the doggie day care option -- our dog practically skips into the place! She has a great time, isn't lonely, we don't feel guilty, and everyone wins. When she boards, it helps to know she is also with her vet in case anything goes wrong, and their practice is open 24/7-365.

Really torn about giving this rating, as they did save my dog, but they made many MANY egregious errors that just shouldn't happen, especially when you pay upwards of $5k-$6k for surgery & hospitalization. I think overall the staff is good, but their communication really needs work, as my dog was given medication that I told them had caused irregular & slowed heart rate previously -it's a wonder she didn't die! They didn't give me all the medications they charged me for, & never called with updates. They seem understaffed, so some corners are cut on individual care to the animals, as the nursing staff is spread too thin. The receptionists are mostly pleasant, but some of them get defensive & catch an attitude really quick if you question them on anything. Others of them are really nice & helpful, & don't mind explaining if you have questions. I think their management needs to "clean house" a bit with the snarky staff, & hire more quality people. Overall my dog came home alive & I'll be forever appreciative of that, but for the hefty price tag I definitely expect better quality service.

I have a long association with Dr. Valerie Campbell from the day I raised parrots (caiques) and a new association with Dr. Nancy Hall and Dr. Debbie Hill as a cat owner (two cats). The bottom line, the vets are talented and committed professionals. It is a business and it is not cheap! Mitzi , my Egyptain Mau stopped eating altogether as a result of having developed a "severe periodontal disease (Stomatitus.) Most of her teeth had to be extracted and she had to be treated with anti-inflammatory medications. After many months, she seems to have gotten back to her previous self, and her appetite is back with a vengeance! Thanks to Dr. Hall and Dr. Hill !

I normally bring my bearded dragon to see Dr Lori and I couldn t be happier with my experience. Today was different. I rescued 2 dragons and the male needed vet attention. Unfortunately Dr Lori was not available so we had to see Dr Campbell. I am beyond mad and will not return! First off I drive 45 minutes to get there. She walked into the room and never even introduced herself. She said how many of these things do you have? (Very rudely) I said 4 and I proceeded to tell her I had just rescued him a few days ago. She asked what I was feeding and I told her DUBIAS (roaches) which are very high in protein and fat for dragons (exactly what these guys need because they are malnourished and underweight) she rudely told me I needed to get them off of them and on to something less fattening! She lifted his arm and dropped it on the table, did the same with his legs and tail! I was FURIOUS!!! She was so rough with him I couldn t believe it. She left the room, cane back to give him a shot and gave me medicine. I had told her about his pores on the inside of his (needed drained) she did nothing!! She spent maybe 5 minutes with me and they tried to charge me for an office visit. $60!! Not hardly. I refused to pay for it. Drove 45 minutes for 5 minutes of rough treatment to my sweet baby. I can t stand this woman and she needs to quit practicing!!

I've had many issues with this vet regarding care for my Exotics. They just don't have the knowledge and experience that you'll find at the better exotic vet in the area. I did take my dog there once, and received satisfactory service. But for Exotics, they can't even handle a bloody toe.

Blue Ridge is further from our Harpers Ferry home than other local veterinarians and possibly a little more expensive. But they provide the very best caring and compassionate service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We started going there a few years ago when one of our beagles had a urinary blockage that could have killed her had Dr. Gast not been there to diagnose the problem and operate almost immediately. A couple of weeks ago when our eldest beagle collapsed, we thought she had suffered a stroke. Again, BRVA was there and available on a Friday night and Dr. Mitchell and Dr. Campbell was immediately able to diagnose the rapidly developed cancerous mass that had caused her spleen to rupture leading to the sudden drop in blood pressure. Dr. Mitchell, in an extremely empathetic and caring way presented the options but cautioned that the cancer had probably spread and surgery would only provide us a few more months. We were comforted by the staff, who made all arrangements for Suzie's death and cremation, sent us a sympathy card and even remembered our loss when we returned for a routine shot for Greta. We receive regular reminders of shots due and recommended procedures (including dental) that assure us that our remaining 2 dogs will continue to live healthy lives. This area is fortunate to have such a comprehensive veterinary service here that treats pets of all sizes from horses, cows to birds and even rodents.

Our experience thus far has been fabulous. They helped us thru our dog's adoption, spay her and have helped us begin her heart worm treatment protocol. Whenever I call someone is always more than willing to answer my questions, find the answers or connect me with someone who can help.

Feels like a commercial practice. They want you in and out. The doctors here do not take the time to explain treatment/medication/causes of infection. The staff in the clinic is rude and short when asked any questions. Was charged twice on my account for services and the billing department gave us a hard time when we asked for a refund, tried to give us credit at their practice instead of my money back. Leslie who does the grooming here is the only plus side of this facility, she does a good job. We have switched vets because this practice is unwelcoming.

Somehow managed to make me an appointment in the past? Took time out of my work day to go to a scheduled appointment and they tell me it was 3 weeks ago- I didn't even own the pet 3 weeks ago! Complete disgrace and a waste of time. Maybe give them a call to get an appointment for February 29 1987

New to the area. Made an appointment for our beloved 9 y/o dog who has developed a lump near his spine. Received a text and email confirmation on the time. The next day I received another text confirming a different time. When we called to inquire, we were met with unfriendly customer service and a complete denial of the original time. Most importantly, we did not get a genuinely caring vibe regarding our dog s condition. Since arrangements had already been made with our work schedules, we needed to find an appointment within our original timeframe. We called another veterinary hospital in town and were not only given the appointment time we needed, they were also very concerned about our dog and instead of Sorry, nothing we can do. We were told We can t wait to see him. Lesson learned on BRV-sometimes the places that look like they have all the bells and whistles-simply don t.

Been coming to Blue Ridge for many years with three dogs and two cats! Everyone always friendly and sensitive to our situations and believe me we have had our share! Love the 24 hour availability and all of the Doctors have been top notch. So hats off to Blue Ridge!!!

Dr. Lori, the technician and office staff were fantastic. It is not always easy to examine a cat, especially a torti and they handled her with the same love and care that we do. It was an added bonus to receive a bill that was much lower than expected based on a similar visit to another veterinary office. This is by far my favorite vet practice in Loudoun County.

I have been coming to blueridge vet associates for about two years now. I first came to them with two guinea pigs that were extremely vitamin deficient straight from the pet store. They saved them and I still have them today!! I live an hour away and still travel that far to take my dog for check ups!! So worth it

Clients of BRVA for 10 years; the vet staff seem capable, but bedside manner varies tremendously depending on who you get. The convenience of 24/7 is great and we've boarded many times. You PAY A LOT for that convenience, whether or not you use it. The front desk staff is clearly trained to sell every possible vaccination and test to you, required or not, whenever you call to make an appointment. The cost of their services are well above average and their medications are OUTRAGEOUSLY inflated. If you ask for a paper RX rather than pay their prices, they charge you a fee to write the Rx! I paid $1/pill for what is considered a cheap maintenance medication until I could get a paper prescription; I paid 11 cents/pill online. We will likely continue to use their boarding, but it is time to find a new vet for our dogs' medical treatment.

In our experience we have been happy we chose Blue Ridge Veterinary Associates despite the 20 minute drive. We originally chose blue ridge based on a few factors; 24 hour onsite emergency care, onsite boarding/daycare, regular appointment availability (early am and late pm). Now a family with two puppies under 1.5 years, we have depended blue ridge multiple times. They have always provided great care and concern. Everyone on staff works with a smile, and seems to really enjoy their work. The medical care our pups have received has always been thorough and cost effective. Each time in, their team has provided multiple treatment options none of which have we felt like we were being taken advantage of. We only wish we could see the same doctor for all of our appointments. Maybe this is our fault as we haven t asked for this. Take your animals to Blue Ridge for care you can trust!

I am not sure that it is Blue Ridge that I wish to comment on here, because I am not sure that the vet who saw my animal is truly affiliated with them, other than space rental. I have never had a better experience than having Miss Peggy treat my dog!!! Many many thanks. There are truly no words which can convey my appreciation!!!

My two dogs had a fecal test, I ask them when I dropped off the sample what is the charge was so I can pay up front. They told me there was no charge unless some treatment was needed. Then they sent me a bill in the email for $80. I was confused so I called them and they told me there's always a charge and got not even an apology. How hard is providing the correct information or a simple apology for their mistake? I canceled my next appointments with them, I don't want to be charged with anymore hidden fees again.

Wow! I own a kennel, and cannot tell you how knowledgeable and caring these folks at Blue Ridge Vet Assoc. are! A rescue organization referred us originally to them, so they are well known in the dog world. I'm also a biologist, so ask a lot of questions (OK, I interrogate vets...), and they graciously put up with me. They gave us alternative treatments and choices, as well as referrals. They've got it together to help your dogs (in our case up to 20 dogs). We recently had to rescue a passel of dogs and one had to either have thousands of dollars of medical treatments or be euthanized...they helped us with kindness and thoughtfulness with the decision and worked with rescue groups to help us financially with the dogs we rescued. Thanks Blue Ridge Vets, you rock!

Excellent service at a good price. Staff friendly and the Vets are good at explaining and answering any questions you have. Unlike our past vets, this vet practice does not try to upsell you. This vet is 40 minutes from where I live and there are plenty of practices closer, but I still go to Blue Ridge. They are well worth the travel time. They offer evening appointments with no extra charge. That makes it much easier to have our dogs looked at after the work day. Night appointments are available but there is a reasonable extra charge. While this practice is open 24 hours a day, their vets are not on duty 24 hours but can be called in to the office in case of an emergency. So if you have to take your pet to Blue Ridge for an emergency during the night, be sure to call the practice so they can call in a vet. All in all, very satisfied with the service this practice gives us.
