Loved the experience, it was a girly hen party, in August, the food was lovely. A great fusion of flavours, complimentary tiny snacks arrived with our starters. The mains and the dessert were extraordinary, with great company, would certainly dine here again.
With any Michelin Star restaurant you expect perfection and to be wowed.
Unfortunately for me it fell a little short. Our starters were the stand out dishes and i felt our mains were lacking a little.
Lovely setting, great service and perhaps if we had ordered something else, we might have been more impressed.
We have been to Benares to dine in and really enjoyed it, so given current Covid situation we recently ordered a delivery. The food was excellent, lovely flavours, fresh ingredients, most definitely a cut above. It s really well packaged for delivery and portions are (for us) a very reasonable size. You can choose a time for delivery which can be very helpful. Great dining experience at home.
Last time we went it was impeccable, the food and the service. This time both were below par and the service pretentious at best and rude at worst. I had informed them it was for a birthday while booking and while there and not a mention in sight. 30 mins within sitting we were being told that 1 hour was left while the restaurant was empty. The potato tartlets were were bland and the main kofta had no taste. Real shame.
Really good food, atmosphere and service. As usual with these more expensive establishments however, portion size was microscopic.
STOP what you re doing right now and book a table here!!! Upon our arrival, I was given a lovely scarf (in celebration of Diwali I think) . The ambience, decor, service and food was AMAZING. They even gave us a power pack to charge our phones and altered the menu re likes/dislikes and allergies. Possibly the best restaurant I ve been to. We had a set menu. Will be returning to try other things. Divine experience. Wish I knew the name of our waitress- loveliest girl ever but all that served- did so impeccably!! Private function rooms available too as well as a chef s table type of thing. Check out my photos - the food tasted even better than it looks and it looks fabulous!!!! DEFINITELY going back. Deserves multiple Michelin stars!!!!
We ordered a food delivery from Benares and were thrilled with the food. We choose from the vegetarian dishes. Everything was beautifully presented and tasty. I wrote an article for my blog so took a few pictures.
Food was excellent with great wine pairings. The biryani was easily the best I've had. Excellent social distancing of tables with dividers between tables. Service good and attentive. Maybe decor and interior need updating as looking a little tired.
We had the tasting menu, with some amazing wine, 1st class food and service.
Excellent service and food. We had the 3 course set menu with some bubbly and thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. Staff we're really nice and accommodating of our little son as well and they also had a kids menu as a bonus. Can't wait to go back some time soon.
