This airport is massive. I really enjoyed the architecture. The crowds are massive so prepare for very long lines and lots of people bumping into each other. There was a good variety of stores to shop and eat at which i enjoyed during my long layover. Very clean airport overall

Main gate to China? More like main gate to Hell...I had a 10 hr layover here on route for Manila. The WiFi is a joke. The staff seeemed to despise foreigners and also spoke poor english. Hardly nothing to eat and the terminal was so cold. This was in December. In brief: Dont ever transfer here!!!

Biggest Airport to handle the larger crowds., it doesn't seem tough at all for the airport staffs, as they r all more friendlier for foreigners. For immigration it haven't took more than 15-20 mins after arrival., Meanwhile for the smoke & pollution, really its worrying n cant imagine in the future days.,

One of the worst airport that I have been into. For connecting flight, you have to go through security clearance twice and there is nothing to do for long layover. It is pretty big in size. But, just big, nothing else.

Easy to navigate and get to from the city (airport express from Dongzhimen station for 25rmb). Shuttles to gate are easy to navigate. However, the gates are very poorly marked and the arrows seem to point in very random directions, so make sure you give yourself enough time to wander aimlessly looking for your gate! Also, impossible to find stores selling basics (bottles of water, snacks, etc.) There is a duty free or high-end store every 5 feet, but no general store that would be appreciated before a 15 hour flight.

The facilities are very large and beautiful. It is unusual for water to be free to drink. After all, people of various ethnicities are gathering, so I think it will be a stimulus. The only thing that is a little wasteful is the staff's response. The word self-responsibility would be most appropriate. However, the gyoza in the shop was very delicious, so I will give you three points.
The first stir-fried water dumplings, salted and green. A shameful water dumpling origin. Disrespect!

The worse travel experience of my life. Perhaps the only redeeming aspect was that it only lasted for a few hours, during a transfer from Japan to France. With only hours to make a connection, I'll admit that the architecture was of little interest to me. Finding my gate was easy: the most massive and disorganised crowd gathered around it. No semblance of order whatsoever, push your way to the front to be first. The locals are accustomed to this, I fortunately managed to be escorted to the front by staff as I was about to miss my flight. Avoid this airport if you don't feel like fighting for your flight! What was so far already a horrible experience turned to the worse customer service I have ever experienced, in any industry. Customs did not greet me with even a look, did not speak, and literally THREW my passport back at me?! Are you joking? Your country's representatives to its borders display open aggression towards foreigners (on second thought, that's actually quite consistent with China expansionist and aggressive mindset). I thought I was being smart by flying a Chinese airline through Beijing, but the entire experience from the get go is a write off, never to be replicated. Fly with a real airline. Use a modern, real airport like Singapore's or Japan's, not those of this hole.

Long queues, prepare atleast 2 hours, to go through security etc! Otherwise there's food courts, Starbucks, KFC etc. They have a shuttle bus and an airport express which is 25 yen takes About 30 minutes

Flight from Beijing to Frankfurt.
The airport was deserted.
Was treated very, very friendly.
All controls super nice.
During the transfer, run, no problem, one of the staff runs the felt 5km to the gate with me.
Too airport. Top staff.

It is the second busiest airport in the world and is located in the northeast of the city, about 32 km from the city center. The airport is owned and operated by the Beijing Capital International Airport Co., Ltd., a government company. The airport is the largest and most active between China airports, and includes the main operations center of China Airlines (Air China), in addition to Hainan Airlines and China Southern Airlines.

A truly qualitative airport compared to other international airports in the world. The staff are extremely helpful to you and explain the steps to follow.
As we say, we judge the cleanliness of a place in the property of his toilets. Well the answer is, for me, clear:
The toilets are very clean and smell good.

We can also find stores to buy a 4G SIM card, change your currency, etc ... I advise you to do the minimum here and do the rest outside the airport, in town. It will cost you much less.

I have had a few layovers at Beijing and sadly, each and every single time my experience has been negative. Very rude staff, whether you're at the passport control or at a coffee place. Terminal three is huge and I understand that it's not easy to heat it, but why use a/c when it's -2 degrees Celcius outside? Many shops close after 10 pm even though there are numerous international flights after that time. And last but not least, wifi is unbelievably unreliable... I'll try to book my flights with no layovers at Beijing from now on.

The airport is big but poorly designed. Lacking in signage. It's like a ghost town at 9pm where everything is closed. They have free wifi.... However it's too cumbersome to log in. Very little choice of restaurant. Air China has its own lounge at terminal 3 however you have to book ahead. You can't just logon in the internet and book. I'm sorry but most staff can't speak English and weren't helpful. Those that rate this airport 3 star and above really need to travel more and check out airport like in Singapore or South Korea...... What a world of difference.
I wanted to leave feedback at the airport ... However there is no suggestion box to be found.
I expect a lot more for modern China.

Good for travellers

Good for travellers

Had a quick stay for couple of transits.

Continental foods available.

Business rooms.

Advanced work station at rooms.

Quick room service

Hospitality is very good.

Near to the airport.

Airport shuttle service available every half an hour.

Far away from city.

Busy airport with wifi that is supposedly free but which you can never connect to. The security is ridiculous and you will spend 1 hour there. At least I did. For some reason they deliberately slow the security check such that each person spends something like 15 minutes before they go through the metal detector. Not very efficient.

HUGE airport with some cool architectural designs. The employees are helpful and make sure that you know what you're doing. The security is a whole other thing though. They are extra thorough and don't mess around.

Wide and beautiful airport!

Wide and beautiful airport!
We used to change international flights, but due to the delay in arrival at Beijing, the time to departure was very impatient. Since there is baggage inspection even at the transfer, a schedule with plenty of time may be good!

All the reviews that are four stars or higher are fake! None of the staff speak one bit of English. I went to ask for the WiFi password to many staff and they all couldn't speak English.......even at the information centre. Also China delayed our flight for no reason. We asked why at the information centre and they said no English no English so dumb......also EVERY SINGLE PERSON WAS COUGHING LIKE AHHHHHHHHHHH *COUGH* So annoying. The bathroom stinks and no one flushes. Oh and the flight was delayed because China delays your flight so other people can get on for cheaper tickets. For the capital of China this airport should be pretty nice...... I am an adventurer and this by far is the worst airport I have ever seen. Oh and one more thing in the flight I went to go to the bathroom.....it was like what I expected from what I had saw in the airport.... anyway I went to the bathroom and the staff kicked the door open almost hitting me in the face....this by far is the trashiest airport I've been to. In conclusion try to avoid this airport if possible

One of the most spectacular airports I have visited!
A taxi from Beijing airport to the city center ranges between 90 and 100 yuan. If you choose a bus, the price varies from 15 to 30 yuan per way and runs from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 24:00 p.m. (departing from the airport) and from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (departing from the city). I went and advise going on the Airport Express train that connects terminals 2 and 3 from the airport with the Dongzhimen subway station, makes an intermediate stop at Sanyuanqiao, subway station of line 10. The price is 25 yuan per way and part between 6:20 p.m. and 22:50 p.m. from Terminal 3, and between 6:00 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. from Dongzhimen. The frequency varies between 10 and 12 minutes.

Beijing Airport is massive and delightful for shopping for those who are waiting. Air China VIP area and lounge is one of the best I've seen at an airport. They've got a noodle bar, buffet, and plenty of beverages to choose from... although I only end up eating cup noodles.

Upscale and roomy coffee shops. I can recommend the Thai or Irish restaurants near the Air China lounge as well.

Only complaint is the security walkthrough area looks very ghetto and no special lines for business class passengers. And better signage would be good!

Convenient connection to all over the country via Beijing
Air china is easy to change from Narita and Haneda to Beijing each city in each country.
When you receive the package, go back the way you came and leave your luggage at the counter ok
On the way back, big cities are enjoyable at check-through.
Have fun with Karaoke waiting time!

Even though it is huge and have lot of space at waiting lounge and shops, but overall experience was not good. I used it for transit and they have created a bottleneck. Unlike other airports where you just have to go through security check if you are a transit passenger ( including Shangai pudong airport), here in Beijing you have to got through a counter before going through security check. They have only 2 counters and sometime only 2 employees sit there, so just imagine, all transit passengers have to go through these 2 counters. Took more than 1hr 30min each time, just imagine waiting in a queue for more than 1hr 30min to just go to transit area.
Other than this other things were fine. You have waiting are near every gate and not every gate is busy, so you will easily find place to sit.

[April 2018] An international airport with a large scale and large traffic volume, but with strict security and few windows, it often takes half an hour to an hour to wait in line for customs clearance. The shopping street is well planned.

The area is very large and wide. Fortunately, there are light rail vehicles that can be connected. It feels more advanced than many large airports, at least more advanced than Kansai Airport in Japan.

Interesting design and interior. A large number of tourists and guests of the capital. Everything is on schedule and clearly. Clean and comfortable, security at a high level. The main thing is the stability of the work of airport employees. I advise you to fly. Minus the assortment of products and duty-free goods.

Have landed here often and can recommend the airport. Asian organized and clean. The business lounge of Air China is okay, but since it is integrated into the airport it is noisy and the air is bad too.

I used it for transit from Japan to Northern Europe.
The security check was very strict, about half of people were caught in the gate of the metal detector. The attitude of the staff was bad, the inside of the airport was too wide and it was hard to move.
In the future I thought about not to use this airport as much as possible.

The most disorganised airport in the most horrible of cities. The line at customs is a massive free for all with no ropes to create a line. It's like a zoo and very backwards. If this city is like the bowels of the country then this airport is the orifice.

It's large and clean, but it's best to think that you can't buy souvenirs from China and Beijing at the airport.
Although it is sold in a small space, the location is difficult to understand and the product lineup is very poor.
Keep your mobile battery in your luggage, not in your suitcase! Security is caught!

Use this airport to and from domestic and Shenzhen Baoan International Airport. From Shenzhen in the South China area, just over three hours one way, I was reminded of the hustle and bustle of the country called China.
I thought Singapore Changi International Airport was big , but this airport may be more than that. It feels quite small compared to DFW, but feels several times wider than Narita and Haneda.
The domestic flight is the same as the DELAY on parade. If there is no good thing, it's almost on-time in Japan, but in this country, isn't it a good thing in Japan?

Beijing Capital International Airport; International airport serving the capital Beijing. The airport upgrade project is worth 500 million euros (US $ 625 million) borrowed from the European Development Bank. Beijing Capital International Airport is the busiest airport in China, with double-digit growth since 2003, the busiest airport in Asia in terms of aircraft operating, surpassing the National Airport. Tokyo International. In terms of passenger numbers, the airport is the second busiest in Asia and the 14th busiest in the world

Connecting between flights (in the same terminal) is straightforward. When arriving/departing, the lines can be a bit long, so give yourself plenty of time to get through the formalities. The departure lounges are spacious, and lots of options for food/drink & shopping.

The international terminal T3 Section E is clean but a little confusing. It takes a while to know your way around. Unfortunately the food selection is really limited and for the size a little expensive! Unfortunately if you transfer here you have no other chance than buy some overpriced food.

Terrible airport. There is only one line for all ...

Terrible airport. There is only one line for all transfers and they are too slow and strict. We already are checked at customs when we check in, yet they check everything again. They also try to inquire about things in your bag, but don't speak English or have any translators or even a piece of paper like other airports where they can point at pictures of banned objects and ask if you have them. Even though the line was so long, one guy looked at my tooth paste and mulled it over for so long... then another lady asked me about something in my bag I guess in Mandarin.. it certainly wasn't comprehensible English... I had no idea what she was saying but she just kept repeating herself over and over again.. I just kept telling her I didn't understand her because I don't speak Mandarin but I didn't have anything contraband in my bag as far as I could tell but she kept asking me the same thing over and over again... she pulled everything out of my bad while doing so and put it in so many different trays... then went back to the x-ray machine, checked my ticket, repeated the same word to me some more... this took like half an hour. I was so hungry and thirsty since they take away your water again too. Then finally she was like "ok, this is all fine." (yeah, I know, I kept telling you that!) and I had to repack everything. I think it is fine to expect everyone to speak Mandarin if they are actually entering the country (not realistic, but understandable), but this is just transfers, so that's a ridiculous thing to expect, and this whole thing could have been avoided and the process sped up if their transfers security spoke some second languages or if they at least had visual aids for communicating! So many people missed their flights because of this behavior!

The Beijing International Airport is located in Beijing, China which is located for Hainan Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, Air China and China Southern Airlines aircraft.

This airport consists of 3 types of terminals namely terminal 1, terminal 2, and terminal 3. The airport has several facilities, namely free Wi-Fi, shuttle service, bus services, hotel services, financial services, and others.

dirty

Just too big with no reason.

Just too big with no reason.
WATCH OUT FOR SCAMS especially when you get there around midnight and your upcoming transfer flight is at another terminal.

I almost got scammed by a teamed up airport officer at the info desk & airport licenced taxi driver. Once I got out of the terminal 4 & was looking for a shuttle bus to terminal 3 for my transfer flight, a guy with airport staff badge just came to me and led me to his taxi saying that there is no shuttle at this time. BUT, that makes no sense that an international airport which does not support a free shuttle among its own terminals. I asked him to get me to the info desk first to figure out shuttle stuff first but the guy at the info desk was a scumbag as well. He lied to me that there is no shuttle around midnight. But I ain't stopped doubting about it and ran to another info desk and she told me there is a free shuttle among terminals 24/7.

Beware of these scams who might charge you around $60~70 from terminal 4 to terminal 3(or terminal 1).

Last but not least, its immigration process is extremely annoying which causes huge delays in general.

Staffs were rude and security was horrible, unhelpful. I want to give them zero star but I gave 1 star to whoever tried to helped me with my first experience in this airport. I had such a horrible experience there. Such a nightmare!!!
They called international airport but Only 2% speak English and I missed my flight connect and I had to booked another flight $250 worst airport ever. On my way back home I just booked new ticket with EVA instead (always wonderful service) I don t want to fly back there at this airport Beijing.

State control as intimidation sends greetings - have landed here from Taiwan and it had not only lighter, but also water bottles (from the previous Duty Free) are delivered. Background: Could not tell us, because even the "guard" does not understand English but only in the military tone "WATER, LIGHTS - PUT OUT IN THE BOX" commanded Next, the ticket for our onward flight was closely examined, at least visually The next staff were critically appraised and stamped, and the next person scanned the ticket in the normal way and checked it by computer. At the security check-in I was despite a green light and no beep again by a female "security guards" accurately scanned and -oh miracle- of course I had nothing, except my clothes, with me.So now the box with my things from the scanner on the table was pushed blatantly, I was finally allowed to wait in the gate area and on my onward flight.
It seemed to us that almost nobody here could really speak English, and instead many ABMs were created to intimidate citizens / tourists.
On our way to Beijing, although much was checked (security check, fingerprints, body heat, visa, etc.), but you would not be treated as rude.

PS: The airport in Taipei was the exact opposite. He is a bit older, but here you can help - and in English ;-)

A truly awful airport. Catching a connecting flight here is an utterly time-consuming nightmare. The staff are rude and have no consideration for your stress, whilst you try to navigate the mess of an airport. They'll continue to shout directions at you in Mandarin, even if you look foreign. The selection of shops and eateries is dire. If you're making a connection, be prepared to queue, as you'll be forced through security again. Be ready to empty your cameras and battery packs into a tray, rather than keeping them in your bag. Don't even bother trying to use the WiFi, as they'll insist on sending a code to your phone number, which won't work, because that's why you're trying to use the free WiFi! I hope I never return to this airport!
