Bit sad on loss of hippos though..seems like animals on holiday too...lol

It was ok. Parking was quiet hard to find. Cannot wait to come back when upgrade is completed, it will be amazing. Look foward to completion but for now we will leave it at 3 stars.

Auckland Zoo is a wonderful place to take kids out on weekends or as an holiday activity. It gives them a perspective of various animals and birds they read about. It is a place where you can interact with the animals, feed and clean them and understand the role of zoo keeper. Safari nights is a great highlight, but comes at a bit of cost. Photography workshops are useful to understand more about wildlife photography. A place where you can also host birthday parties or corporate functions.

Amazing just great. Worth a visit yes working going on but only to make it better. Worth the trip

So many amazing animals, a great day out for the family

Looks like all animals are taken care of, very well. I would say there are bigger zoos but this one is simply beautiful. I suggest to allow at least 3 hours for a full tour.

We had a great time at the zoo. If you buy your tickets the day before you visit online you save $5.
There are lots of zookeeper talks throughout the day. The highlight was definitely seeing 3 kiwis during feeding time.
There is a good variety of animals and the zoo is currently undergoing major development for the new enclosure.
Also great that they no longer use single use coffee cups.

We had a great time here. Unfortunately there was some active contention but overall it was a great experience for the family.

We love Auckland zoo! It's undergoing renovations at the moment but still a great place to take the kids. We bought the annual zoo pass and it is well worth it. The shops and cafe's within the zoo give a discount for pass holders. Great day out!

Although the park is under construction, one of the most beautiful zoos I have seen with very beautiful species!

We love Auckland Zoo ! It s fabulous for young and old . We have been been going for quite a number of years. Always find something new. The animals are very well looked after the grounds are very clean and tidy and well maintained. Lots of different lunch options. Great fun play areas for the children. Water fountains and picnic tables . Clean bathrooms. Love Auckland Zoo . It s definitely worth a visit or Two !!!!

Food in the cafe is expensive and awful though, take your own.

Very awesome, had lots of reptiles, mammals, insects and birds. Does not have snakes due to them being illegal in New Zealand, food places are very expensive.

Went here yesterday with some mates and had a great day, staff were awesome and it was just a fun, great experience!

Packed as, half the enclosures couldn't see animals and they seemed small.

Family as well as just adults friendly. Amazing variety. Favorites were the red pandas, sea otters, and capiyabaras

Great day for the family. So cleverly designed that you can leave your little people run and enjoy the day.

Always amazing to visit! Plenty of different wildlife to see, you can even ask the staff questions and they are happy to answer and discuss. A very relaxed place, spread across a vast area and you can also grab coffee, food, a snack, and there are toilets too.

We have been to a number of zoos overseas and many of them could learn a lot from the high standards that Auckland Zoo sets. In the most part the zoo in Auckland has gone to great lengths to create a natural environment for the animals. What is also not well known is the fact that the Auckland Zoo are part of a program to protect and increase the numbers in the population of endangered species. This is an organisation that seems to have all the right priorities for caring about animals.

A lot of changes happening will be 100yrs soon before you know it. 2022.

Yes loved auckland zoo. Has every kind of animal and bird rectile. kids will love it and also adults. Easy to get around.

One of the best places for children and family. The West Spring's playground's right next to it, couldn't really ask more.

It is is a relatively small zoo, that is targeted towards its, audience, rather than Irma residence. Worth look.

Pretty good, can't wait for the new exhibits to open, kids loved it. Only negative is the coffee was rubbish..

Really enjoyed our full day here great place with wonderful staff and really well priced just a wonderful place to bring the family and relax and unwind.

Didn't get a lot of pictures but can say it is a great zoo, with a lot of environmental activity and animals to look at.

Very nice zoo with great open enclosures. So you can see many of the animals very well. Since the distance to the animals is still very large, you don't disturb them. I have never seen the kiwis there. Otherwise, renovations are in progress, but a visit is still worthwhile!

Always fun to see the animals and the staff are awesome too

Overpriced. Most enclosures closed or couldn't see the animals due to condensation on glass. Very disappointed

It's the best zoo in Auckland, but it can get a little tired from time to time. The team has gone the extra mile to create expansive spaces for the larger animals.

There's a good selection of animals to show the kids.

We went on a Thursday evening, it was so nice a quiet I must say I was very impressed with the zoo and the volunteers that I talked to. Very friendly and helpful.

Most of the places were shut down and ongoing renovations,waste of money and expensive for entry

The zoo was awesome. What a wonderful place and it will be awesome when the new section is complete. One huge issue is buying food on sight as it took over half an hour for our chips at lunch and so bring your own packed lunch until they improve this

Lots of work in progress but still a great place to visit and the work makes it more fun trying to figure out how to get places as some routes around the zoo are now closed.

Absolutely wonderful place to go whether you're a big kid or little one. Fabulous that they take a photo of you as you go in and you can buy them as a memory/souvenir afterwards.

Very well done zoo. The vet education center is a great idea and was very interesting. Really enjoyed the elephant show

Amazing!! Can't wait for the tiger enclosure to be finished. Wish the cafes weren't so pricey though!!

It's a great place to take the kids to. Lots of animals to see, some great activities to do with different animals. Good playground for the kids. The toilets aren't that clean and changing rooms for the young kids. A good family outing place to go to in Auckland.

The annual pass is the best thing we ever did for the kids! We love the Zoo.

Always love the zoo, it changes frequently getting upgrades. The new elephant cafe is great too.

Plenty to see but not all the animals are there, or visible.

Even though this was really busy we could still see the animals. Plenty of different animals even though they are rebuilding part of the zoo.

Wonderful family zoo. Will be excellent when all the building works are completed.

Stunning landscaping and, was able to see Takahe which were nigh on extinct dinner years ago.

Bug lab is very inspiring, no matter you have kids or not, really worth going to have a look!
