This was the best tasting we have been on! We went on a Tuesday when they do not typically have tours but we were able to do a tasting and a small tour. Woodrow was a wonderful tour guide. He was very knowledgeable about all things whiskey. Explained the science behind whiskey making and tasting. Tasting comes with 4 tokens to choose from a variety of options. A very fun experience. We would definitely recommend stoping by. We did not do the brewery tour or beer tasting but it looked fun as well!

My husband and I did the brewery and distillery tour, and I would highly recommend it to someone doing the bourbon trail. Our guide Nicholas was hilarious and engaging, and cleary knew his stuff and enjoyed it. The facilities are very clean and open, a different view from the other distillers in the area.

Our tour cost $11 and we got 4 tasting tokens each. They offer 6 or 7 beers, 5 spirits, and a sweet liquor to try. My husband and I split all the samples so we got to taste 8 things total. We were there for around an hour.

This was a lovely tour and I would definitely take the time to stop by if you are in the Lexington area!

We had a wonderful experience!! We went on the brewery and distillery tour and absolutely loved it. The tour guide was awesome, and all the staff members were very knowledgeable and kind. We will definitely be going back! Can't beat their beer and bourbon!

This place is does not deserve to be on the KY Bourbon Trail.

Great experience! Enjoyed touring the distiller and learning about the legacy of Dr. Lyons. Paid about $11 for tour and got 4 tokens to use towards beers and spirits. Would highly recommend for anyone visiting Lexington who is a fan of bourbon!

We did the Bourbon Trail for our 30th anniversary, this was our first stop...very friendly staff, excellent tour with beer and bourbon tasting, nice gift shop...learned a lot about the bourbon making and aging process, tour guide Steve was very personable and did a great job...this is a top notch experience and we look forward to a return visit...and I did buy Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale and Stout when heading home a few days later, wonderful and unique taste...keep up the great work, Town Branch!

Really good tour. Kelly was very good at explaining how they make their beers and spirits. Can sample the many different beers & spirits they make.

The legacy of Dr Pearse Lyons lives on in this beautiful brewstillery

Really crafty, aesthetically pleasing brewery and distillery that puts on a tour and tasting competitive with others in the area. As this place is located in the heart of Lexington, you will not find the distinctive rural feel that makes nearby distilleries so fulfilling to visit. You may also miss that pleasing Bourbon smell that accompanies other distilleries - there isn't a large, old barn with barrels of distilling spirits. If you're a fan of the KY Bourbon Ale or Bourbon Barrel Stout though, you'll enjoy this spot.

Dale was a great tour guide. He explained the processes to make beer and the process to make the different Liquors. I know the group I was in really appreciate it all that he had to share with the group about the company as well as employees of a company. So genuine with the experiences he shared I only about the company but how his personal life has been enhanced by the employment of alltech. Again so thankful for the experience and the knowledge that gained about alltech. Not only as a company but as the group who cares for their community.

Beer and bourbon is decent, but nothing to write home about. Distillery and brewery is charming, but the "feel" is corporate, not family-owned. All about bottle prices and moving product.

I did the twilight tour and it was awesome. My tour guide was super knowledgeable. It was really neat getting to see how their bourbon is made and try their product! I am not a fan of beer but their beer is really, really good! I would go again!

We did a tour here, cost $11 and allowed you to taste up to four varieties of beer and spirits. Informative tour, with a good dose of local history. Our tour guide Mary was awesome and enthusiastic! Beautiful gift shop.

I like the way Town Branch operates. It is nice having the distillery in Lexington.

Nice to have a distillery/ brewery tour accessible within Lexington for a visitor to the area. With tours on the hour it's convenient for any schedule. The tour guide / hostess was friendly and knowledable and made every one feel very welcome. The lobby / gift shop had a very nice layout with the display cabinets setup as old Irish storefronts. The tour really is a tour for any one interested and not some excuse for sales. There is an admission but very reasonable considering it included tastings of many of their beers and/or distilled liquors. Would recommend, especially for any unable to do the whole bourbon trail experience.

A young girl named Kelly gave us a private tasting. She was so sweet and I had a great time trying all their fantastic products.
10/10 would reccomend

Friendly knowledgeable staff who are happy to tell you about not only bourbon but the differences between bourbon and whiskey, irish whiskey, and scotch. They provide tokens with the tour (which yes is short but honestly I dont know how they could make it longer it certainly hits all the points you need to know and then some) and you can try up to four products with them.

Incredible whiskey. The only tough thing is having your token strategy planned.
I didn't try any of the beers (although I wanted to).
You only get one drink per token. Definitely save for the distilled spirits.

Was going for the brewery rather than the distillery. Brewery was closed so only got the opportunity to try bourbon. Would have been nice to know prior. Tour guide must have been new, wasn't their A squad.

It was informative tour in a small brewery plus distillery. The beer was great in taste along with the bourbon. I would definitely buy the Rye bourbon which was just extra ordinary. But the tour is bit pricey compared to the overall thing you get.

Great hospitality, lots in the gift shop. Amazing the diversity of products of Alltech.

Very interesting place. They brew beer here as well as distill bourbon, rum and rye whiskey. Well worth a tour and learn a bit about what they do here.

This tour was neat for the way they get maximum use of their barrels after making bourbon. You have more options with the tasting here than anywhere else on the trail.

While I thought the whiskey was decent, the beer was a tasty little surprise. I recommend trying the bourbon barrel ale!

Great tour, John was knowledgeable, funny and quick witted. The beer selection is slamming. Every beer I tryied tasted just right on the palette. Specially the bourbon barrel aged ones. Then onto the liquor. Well, will let you all discover that for yourself :-)

Authentic experience of Kentucky bourbon distilleries. Plenty of samples come with the tour. One of the best brewery tours I've had!

Great tour! Our guide Marshall was amazing. Tasted some great bourbons. One critique would be is that I d have liked to been able to taste without touring. See one distillery and you e seen them all. Sorry to say.

A lot of fun. We enjoyed the history, the tastings, & the suggestions for mixing drinks. Also, the gift shop was appropriately priced. We were lucky enough to meet Ken. What a hospitable group of people!

Here in Kentucky on family vacation and went to the distillery and brewery tour. Amazing place with great beers and spirits. Can only get the Vanilla Cream back in Wisconsin. Needless to say after the tour today the van is loaded up with many tasty beers and spirits to take back home!

Just completed this tour of both the brewery and distillery operations. Brad, our tour guide was fantastic! Some really fine quality ales and spirits. Well worth the price of admission. Thank you Town Branch for your patronage and hospitality!

Fun distillery and its free what a great place to visit. I would go back in an instant. Thank you guys for the good times and great memories I was able to make because of you and your great service. The beer was good to and they even give you a free gift to take home with you. Anytime i am ever back in town i will absolutely come back and take another tour. This would be a fun spot to bring someone on a date or even a great place to bring your family even if you're just passing through...stop by and see these great people and grab a drink while you're hear!

We had an awesome tour! The man was hilarious and informative. Definitely a fun experience.

The tour was extremely boring with little to see as it is right in the middle of a city. Plus, the extremely bad insect infestation coupled with the nasty smell of stale, semi-fermented sugar water in their facility has completely removed my desire to ever consume their bourbon again. Not that it was that good to begin with. Do yourself a favor and skip this part of the Bourbon Tour. It isn't worth it.

This review is for Town Branch and Alltech (same company) and specifically the tour. My wife and I did a good portion of the Bourbon Trail recently for a quick little vacation. It was a shame we started with Town Branch because it set our expectations too high for the remainder of the stops. Now I am not saying the others places we went to were horrible or we didn't see/drink awesome stuff BUT the tour at Town Branch was by far our favorite. Our tour guide Scottie was nothing short of amazing, out of all the tours I've taken at countless places Scottie had them all beat or at worst was in a tie for 1st. He was informative, easy to hear, quick on his feet when it came to questions, good with witty replies, hilarious, and just had the entire group in a great mood.....you could tell he truly enjoyed what he did. In terms of the tour it was great you got to taste both beer and bourbon (two of my favorite things) and see their facility. Overall I would make this a priority stop next time we are in town and I will be picking up a case of Bourbon Barrel Ale as well to bring back home.

Very awesome and historical place on the Bourbon Trail in Kentucky. It is definitely one of the must
sees of Lexington. It doubles as museum and shop to buy Bourbon or Kentucky themed merchandise as well as offering tours normally all day that start on the our and last about an hour.

Love this little brewery and distillery; within easy walking distance of the Lexington Hyatt. Fun gift shop, with one of the best selections of items for purchase. There is the beer side, and the distillery side, so, something for everyone. Great customer service too.

Stopped in before the game and was more than glad we did. The entire staff was amazing and very knowledgeable. They have a great variety of products, all which are great. Definitely recommend to anyone stopping by Lexington

Located in downtown Lexington. Enter through the visitor center/gift shop to sign up for a tour. There are 2 parts...the brewing tour and distillery tour (we only did the distillery tour). While waiting for your tour to begin, browse through the many items for purchase. They have everything from bottle openers, apparel, glasses, recipe books and your favorite libations. David was our tour guide and did a fantastic job of explaining their distilling process. The tasting at the end gives the opportunity to try their selections. Remember to stop back in the gift shop to pick up your items. Hint: the selection of items was really good and maybe next time I visit there will be a grilling apron to purchase.

Very cool place. Only place you can tour both a brewery & a distillery (as well as sample beer & bourbon). Really like the blend of modern & historic in the location & architecture.

I'll make it short, Del was an amazingly personable person and really helpful and super friendly. This guy needs a raise!!!

Staff was nice, but DON'T EXPECT to walk in and just do a tasting (like any other brewery).... They apologized but said they were booked for yours MONTHS out... Super disappointing for my husband who LOVES their Bourbon barrel vanilla .

Okay, if you're like me you're probably wondering why the hell you have to go to this distillery you've never heard of to complete your passport. But, it is actually pretty neat with their different distilling processes, nice staff and best rye and liqueur on the trail. Worth the stop.

Had to give this 1 star since we could not rate it lower! What a disappointment this place was. We drove out of our way to stop there as they are on the main Bourbon Trail. Website says they are open but a sign in the parking lot dated from July says they are closed and "working" on updating the website. So, they were able to update the website to advertise Pumpkin Spiced Beer in time for Halloween but they can't update it to say they are CLOSED??? If we ever stop by again it will most like be because we have absolutely nothing better to do!!

Outstanding experience small set up but very interesting

Took a tour here when my family passed through Lexington on vacation. Our tour guide was Del (not sure on the spelling!) and he was great, funny, knowledgable, and just a great guy. Even my 15 year old brother wasn't totally unamused with the distillery/brewery tour and admitted that it was better than he thought it was going to be. I'm not much for bourbon, but I LOVE their Bluegrass Sundown. Wishing now that I had bought more than one bottle, since I'm pretty sure that I can't get it in Indianapolis.

Such an awesome experience. Out tour guide Dave was amazing. Extremely knowledgeable and entertaining, had us laughing the whole time. The combo tour is the best as you can see the distillery and brewery, but get to choose from more options. Highly recommend!
