The iconic chimney of the adjacent coal-fired power station has since disappeared and the high-rise will soon follow.
The Kaloot beach, located in front of the central beach, is relatively quiet on the days when the rest of the Dutch beaches are packed. Please note: bring your own foraging, there are no facilities. Beach is accessible from the east side along the cooling water inlet or from the west side at the parking lot. Popular with kite surfers.
