It has to be one of the most beautiful places to go to in LA. The views, the architecture, the art, and the gardens are all superb. Parking can be expensive during the day (20$), but I'd recommend going after 6pm where it's 10$. If you get lucky and go on a day with clear weather and little smog, the evening view of LA is absolutely beautiful. I recommend taking the architectural tour, which is great background for the Getty. Also try to see the cactus garden in the south of the Getty and the room recreations in the first level of the southwest building (just ask the security or guides if you need help finding something!).

Small warning: Google Maps might give you the directions to the employee entrance. Make sure you take the next exit when travelling northbound on the 405 (it says Getty centre drive or something). That's where guess parking is, and then you take a train up to the Getty. I had a really confusing Uber ride the first time I went because of this.
