I've had the privilege of comming to the Grove Park Inn for the last 50 years. It's been a family tradition. The
facility is absolutely beautiful but I've noticed alot has changed in the last 5 years.
I booked a mountain view room, like every year, and I was extremely disappointed when I opened my curtains to a retention wall. It is room 7077. I was billed for a mountain view room.
The food is still amazing. But I've noticed a big change. The first word from every server is, " How would you like to pay?" I found this attitude tacky and demeaning. Not representive of the heritage of this property.
I went to the concierge to book some time with a tennis pro and I got a blank look. His response, "please call the sports complex." I turned in disappointment. He did not even offer a phone number. There was a set of golf clubs for rent right in front of the desk.
Last evening my daughter and I tried to go to the main lobby to order a dessert. We were treated rudely. It was a Monday evening. Hospitality is ladies and gentlemen treating guests as ladies and gentlemen.
I prepaid for breakfast and i was still charged. I was told upon checkout they would remove the charges from my bill.. very tacky.
The buildings are the same but the properity is not what it used to be.
It makes me very sad that one of my favorite places has turned into a corporate token. The Grove Park Inn should be treated with the upmost respect. Shame on Omni.

With extreme disappointment,
Marvin Wilhite Jr.
