We really love hiking here. It tends to be pretty busy but it is also a popular place. We take our dogs and most dog owners appear knowledgeable about proper dog handling so that is nice (I have a reactive dog who needs space). My only complaint is I find it hard to find adequate detailed information about the trails. Our first trail I looked up on Alltrails first and thought Cattail pond might be good, I think I confused the loop with the escarpment because hell yeah we were climbing steep slopes and completely dying from it. My husband then thought Fossil valley trail sounded good because fossil and we died even harder on the way back. So, moral of the story, research your trails... Then research them again... We took bluebonnet on our next visit and that was far more enjoyable! Albeit a little muddy, but not bad!
