The staff was so rude and impossible to work with. They wouldn't put me on a payment plan when financial aid didn't cover all of the costs and they wouldn't give me any extensions on payment. I also ended up with holds on my account every semester for no reason (even they couldn't figure out why I had them). I had to go through this whole process of setting up a code phrase and being put on hold for a long time over the phone to get it cleared up. Halfway through my program, I found out that the state requirements for the job I wanted special education were changing and that I would have to add an entire major worth of math credits onto my existing course load to get the license I needed to teach special ed. If I had been informed of this up front, I would have chosen a different program. As it stands right now, I'm paying back the student loans with interest for college classes that are useless as far as helping me get a job. As if that wasn't bad enough, the program itself was crap. They stressed one method and one method only to teach the students. I told them that it wasn't working on my students and they told me to keep doing it and it would work. It never did and I wasted so much time in my classroom trying to teach students using a method that wasn't effective for their learning. I finally switched back to using methods that were taught to me in my gen ed program at a different university and things got much better. When I dropped out of the program they told me I had five years to finish or I would have to start all over. I don't have money to go back and get a whole new degree so I guess I wasted an entire year and several thousand dollars for nothing. In all fairness, my immediate professors were super cool and they did try to work with me to help me finish the program and work around my crazy life as a single mom, but since I needed only a fraction of the credits to get an endorsement to teach something (almost anything) else, it didn't make sense to stay in the program.
