Disappointing and not according to the Intercontin...

Disappointing and not according to the Intercontinental standard.
The hotel is neither the outside nor the inside (lobby) appealing or exceptional. Maybe the atrium that extends over the 23 floors.
Overall, the hotel makes an aged, renovation in need impression (see photos from the entrance area). But even a renovation will not solve the fundamental problem of low ceiling heights (max 2.20m high).
The room itself is large by European standards; rather small for Asian standards. The window front to the main road isolates the sound relatively bad. Wi-Fi is slow (as is often the case in China) (and all Google services are blocked).
Large rain shower (albeit much too low) - the big problem is the fluctuating water temperature ... sometimes it is too cold, then too hot for showers.
What is really good is the breakfast buffet. Not only of the selection, but especially the service. The fresh egg dishes are brought to the table, as are the juices and bread products.
The check out was not great; the young lady (who was alone at 6:30 at the counter) was visibly overwhelmed.
